I do not think that anyone would be disappointed in seeing Petra and the Treasury Building. I got a horse and cart down the Siq and was blown away. A truly magical place that just blows your mind when you think on how it was...More

The Treasury is the location from Indiana Jones that made Petra world-renowned. Walking for about 10 minutes through an ancient gorge that has been sliced right out of magnificent, mineral rich stone, you come upon The Treasury peaking out between two cliffs. It's unlike anything...More

You've seen the pics of this iconic place, but as you catch your first glimpse between the narrow canyon walls, you can't help being awestruck. You can't go inside, so you just continue walking through to see the rest of the ancient ruins.

This was an amazing experience and something out of this world. You feel like Columbus or Indiana Jones and you are a part of your own discovery expedition and you have just found a lost city... surreal feeling. The Treasury is the first large site...More

After wending your way through the Siq, dodging horses and carts, and trying to take photos without people in them, you come to the end of the Siq and see the rose coloured Treasury between the cliff walls. I think a lot of people would...More

Petra, and Jordan in general had some of the nicest people I've come across on my travels. Being able to walk through this ancient city, and take in all the history truly felt like a privilege. If you do go to Petra, walk all the...More

It was worth the walk and heat! Truly a beauty and the detailing is exquisite. Though you will find mules and camels charging your way so be mindful. This is also somewhat of a middle point of the whole journey of site seeing in Petra....More

Hi we are going in May to Petra for a few days and do have tours booked. I am really interested in doing a short camel ride at the treasury. Did you arrange the ride prior to going to Petra? If so, whom do you contact. Or did you just arrange it that day. Any information you can provide would be helpful thanks

You can arrange camel rides locally. However I would strongly recommend against it. The sites worth seeing can only be reached by climbing stairs, which the camels can't do, so you'll be seeing the same area you would see by... More

As I have not heard of the Indiana Jones Trail Ride, I am sorry I cannot answer that question either. If it is just round the site then probably not strong skills as it is an easy site but further afield, not sure level.
I will be at Petra next month, and only have a limited amount of time. Does anyone know about how long the hike up the Al-Khubtha trail takes? Not going exceptionally fast or slow, just a normal pace. I've heard everything from 45 minutes to 2 hours... Anything a little more concrete?
