Our family of 6 had the most extraordinary adventure exploring Manu Reserved Zone with Local Trekkers Peru. It was a journey that created cherished memories and strengthened our bond like never before. The Person who organized everything for us, was Alberto the manager, who we contacted from home with a simple message and he responded very kindly and precisely and from that moment I knew that we were in good hands.
Already on the tour our guide Nefi was not only knowledgeable but also fantastic with children, sparking their curiosity and leaving them in awe of the natural wonders around them. He ver knowledgeable of the Amazonian ecosystems from the high jungle to the low jungle, it is in this last one where we spend more time and where we observe more animals. Thank you Nefi for sharing your knowledge with us.
As we ventured into the heart of the rainforest, The professionalism of the Local Trekkers team was very evident, Timoteo our Cook, always had the food ready and on time, and of course it was delicious, varied, with fresh products and plenty for everyone at the table. Not to mention that each plate was very well decorated with shapes of animals that we saw in the jungle, meal time was very well awaited by the kids, since they wanted to see what new food did Timoteo to surprise us.
The wildlife encounters were the highlight of the trip for all of us. Spotting colorful parrots and toucans soaring above us, monkeys playfully swinging through the canopy, and the rare glimpse of a magnificent jaguar made our hearts race with wonder and amazement. In addition to them we saw a family of 8 Kapibaras, we saw alligators and the main attraction in the lake within the reserved zone were the giant river otters, and of course we saw many more animals that I don't remember all their names.
Local Trekkers Peru deserves recommendation for their meticulous planning and attention to detail. The itinerary was family friendly, ensuring a perfect balance between adventure and relaxation. Safety was a top priority, and our guide expertise gave us peace of mind throughout the journey. You won’t regret with this company.

We had an amazing private 7 day 6 nitghts tour in the Manu National Reserve with Local Trekkers Peru. Everything was very well arranged for us, we were 6 people in total all family and we only have good rate for this company.
Our guide Ronald was eager to please and had a genuine passion for showing the animals in their element. It is easy to spot garden variety of animals like Capibaras, wild boars, aligators, caimans, giant river otters, some snakes, tapir and a wild variety of other animals and birdlife, We managed to also see many Macaws, parrots, egrets vultures and so on. Also he is very friendly, Deep knowledge of wildlife he knows every ecosistem in the jungle and its ecology as well, he could explain everything about each animal that we saw.
About our cook Josep was Superbe he always prepared delicious meals. Thanks to him we had a lot of food on the table to Choose, the cake he made was super, it’s Amazing how he prepare much menus and dishes with so less untensils. Amazing!!!
Also, i wanto thanks to the boat driver and his assistant (Rogelio and Augusto) who were a great help to move all our stuff and they also were very attentive to show us when some animal appeared in anywhere along the river.
Finally i would like to recommend this company as your jungle trip operador they are 100 % local people and they provide job to local people as well, YOU WON’T REGRET.!!!

I loved every bit of it! I did the 4 days tour to the buffer zone , it was an amazing experience ! Edgar from the agency was super easy to communicate and helped me arrange my other stuff like tickets to machu , train etc... José the guide was excellent he spotted so many things for me and i saw everything i wanted to see including the cock of the rock , horned screamer and a lot of species of monkeys and all the macaws!! The cloud forest was amazing and the rainforest also, it was raining quite a bit when i went but enjoyed it all none the less, sometimes it was just the most relaxing thing sitting at the terrace of the lodge and just watching the colibries junping from flower to flower! They have a very eco approach and dont keep wild animals as pets(unlike other lodges), if there is a wild animal it is because it was rescued and its free so whenever it finds a family will join it and live on its own, they even dont put put glucose feeders for the hummingbirds , they plant natural flowers instead! Would definitely recommend!

This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The tour guides have such a breadth of knowledge that is incredible, ranging from the flora to the fauna. They can identify large cat prints in the sand, armadillos in the shrubs, spiderwebs in the trees. They have telescopes that allow a close-up of the monkeys. They know which plants are poisonous, which ones are used as paint, and which ones are edible. They take you on day hikes and a night hike. Don't miss this indredible adventure.

After travelling around the world visiting 45 countries and all continents I did not think I still could be amazed. But this valley might have been the prettiest place ive ever been to. Its virgin, the forest is gorgeous and the views simply stunning. Make sure to stay and have time to explore the valley and its wildlife.

Our experience with Andean Hikers Peru in the Manu National Park Reserved zone was amazing and I’ve been to many jungles throughout the world. Manu has something very special since from the Peruvian Andes, we descend to the Amazonian plain in a few hours, the journey is long but it is worth it, as the landscape changes gradually as it descends. Also the animals that we can observe are different in the cloud forest and in the amazonian plain and the ecosystems are varied too.
At first I and my friends, we were undecided, if to do 4 days tour in the cultural zone or 6 to 7 days in the eserved area, obviously the price between both tours is a lot, but believe me the 2 nights inside the reserved area really worth the Worth paying a high price for a great Experience, so we decided to do 6 days and 5 nights tour and it was in the reserved area where we saw most of the animals along the trip.
The staff that Andean Hikers Peru provided us were very professional, starting with our with our van driver (Rolando) who grew up in one of the towns in the cultural area of Manu (Pilcopata) so he knew the route very well and he knew exactly where to stop to show us animals along the way, in short he is an expert driving and as an assistant to the guide.
Now i am going to talk of Salomon our expert guide in the jungle, who was very professional and friendly during the tour, also knowledgeable about the wildlife of manu and the ecosystems that exist in the park. He always surprised us with the ease with which he could explain everything we saw. It was noticeable that the more than 10 years of doing this route was not for nothing. Thanks to him we had a great Experience.
We also had Gregorio as our Master chef, very friendly and passionate in the kitchen, he prepared us the best food we have tasted in other trips in the jungle, the food was very well cooked, varied and especially fresh. we loved his food. Also i would like to thank Roberto and Martin our boat capitain and his assistant who were very helpful moving along the river.
In general this tour and the service that Andean Hikers Peru provided us exceeded our expectations. So i recommend this company for those who are looking for a reliable company and above all that provide an excellent service.

The Manu Tour was a great experience for me. The group was small and we got along really well, our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, the cook was great. I wished I saw a jaguar but anything else was really good. I highly recommend the tour.

This company is not trustworthy. We'd paid for a 4 day 3 night Manu jungle trek with them then the night before leaving, this company told us they were sending us with a different company altogether. Instead of 6 people on the trek, there would be 12. Manu Jungle Trips offered a tiny discount or to cancel for a refund. The company knew we were in a time crunch and wouldn't be able to cancel so we were trapped. The tour company they sent us on was also not good. Poor quality guide with 1 pair of binoculars for 12 people. Avoid Manu Jungle Trips.

My husband and I explored Manu on a 4-day/3-night trip in June, 2017 with Fredy Dominguez of Greenland Peru. He was fantastic! The whole trip was well-organized and interesting; Fredy worked hard to find amazing birds and animals for us to see. If there is anything in the jungle to see, Fredy will find it! Even a frog hiding under dead leaves. Fredy speaks perfect English and is friendly, fun, and very professional. He grew up only a few miles from our lodge, so knows the jungle intimately. The lodge he uses was clean and comfortable; the food was excellent. His fees were the most reasonable of any tour I researched, and I think we got the best experience. I would not hesitate to use Fredy again, and we recommend him highly to anyone interested in a Manu jungle experience. Fredy is the best!!

Hey,
I'm a student from Germany and I traveled around Latinoamerica with a friend for about 4 months. Quite at the end of our trip, I decided to do a jungle tour in Perú close to Cusco. So my friend and me did some internet researches about tours in the peruvian jungle and we found this tour in Manu Nationalparc with Fredy. So we mailed him, he responded immediately and we met some days later so he could explain me the 4-day tourprogram in every detail. I liked Fredy from the first moment: He is young and super nice and you can do jokes with him. He is a very cool character! Also from what I've read on tripadvisor I tought it's going to be interesting and when we met, I was even more keen on doing the trip and excited. I was quite lucky with my group, because as it turned out, in that period of time, not a lot of people wanted to do Jungle hikes, so it was only me, two guys from Austria, one guy from Columbia and Fredy. So we started as a very small group. We were all very excited to finally get into the jungle and learn more about it. Also, we already knew from other people on trip advisor, that Fredy likes to take his mum with him because she always cooks for the tourists. So we were also excited about that! The first day wasn't too spectacular, because we had to drive a long way from Cusco to get to Manu Nationalparc. But Fredy always tried to show us a lot on the way and explained a lot about the history from Manu - his home.
The next day we continued and - how expected - we took his mum with us and for the rest of the time she cooked for us....it was always SO delicious!!! Nothing to complain about! :-)
The followig days we spend in some simple hostels right next to the jungle. We had mosquito nets over our beds so we could sleep quite well at night. During the day we always did one jungle hike in the morning, then we got back to get lunch, had one hour to chill and then did another hike. We also went to a lot of places with small boats, which was very adventurous and we loved them!! On the third day we went to a small island, played soccer with some natives and after that we swam down the river, which was a lot of fun! Some things I liked most about our tour guide were that he always tried very hard and with great patience to find a lot of interesting animals or flowers and expained us about everything and how we could survive in the jungle. So we really learned a lot about Manu and life and how to live in the Jungle!!
He also laughes about his own jokes ;-) And if you want to do something else or if you have questions, he is always open-minded to listen to you and have deep & interesting conversations and he's also open to any kind of suggestion for improvement. He listens to you if you want to talk to him.
We had a lot of fun with our small group and enjoyed the 4 days Manu with Fredy a lot and were really sad when the tour ended...we even asked him if we could just stay a bit longer!
So from me, a highly recomended tour with Fredy and his mum !! Great fun, good times and lots of adventures guaranteed!! 4 days in your life you will never forget! And maybe one day, you even return with friends to go on another adventure with Fredy!
Lots of love

Are there any animals in cages or animals that perform included in this trip? I would love to see the national park but not if animals is being held captive for tourist amusement.
