This is one of the best ancient sites I have visited. It was once a very big city and covers quite a large area. Most of the pathways are well-maintained and can be used by those with mobility issues.

We took the local bus for pennies from Sarande. Its a fascinating place, bigger than we realised with great views of the local countryside. Lots to see and do and there is a restaurant a short walk from the entrance if you wanted a place...More

Our tour guide was great and showed us around the park and explained all about it.

And you can be too. It's an easy 40-minute bus ride from the center of Saranda that costs a mere 100 Lek. Nice old German-made buses depart Saranda as well as Butrint 30 minutes past every hour. Entrance fee is 700 Lek.
