My wife and I like driving through the countryside--the drive itself is very relaxing and enjoyable (even with lots of twists and turns in the road), so when we first discovered Knolly's tunnel, it was a very pleasant surprise, since we never knew that such a tunnel existed in Trinidad. It's history is captivating (there is a signboard at the... More

Getting there was fun.... The country feel, smells was priceless. Bought some produce along the way nice and healthy looking from a lady driving door to door in a station wagon. When we got there I was like... this it? I thought it was bigger from the last time I remembered it but then again I was a child, back... More

My visit to this attraction was purely accidental.. I took my Fiance for a Sunday evening drive in the rain. We saw a roadsign and decided to check out the tunnel. We had no idea that such a gem existed in Trinidad. It is a real piece of history and is well worth the drive. A must see!

This was my 2nd visit to Knollys Tunnel near Tabaquite, Trinidad. The tunnel is 600 feet long through a hill in the central range and was built in the 1890s to facilitate small passenger trains. The road to get there is in good condition and well sign-posted. One can drive right through the tunnel, turn around on the other side... More

This wonderful snippet of history takes you back to many decades ago when trains were vibrant in Trinidad. Now the tunnel is occupied by bats and small animals. It's amazing this old feat of engineering existed back in the days of old. The area is well lit with great signage into the area. Inside is dark and cool A bit... More

This is located in rural Tabaquite in Trinidad. Its a designated historical site. Don't leave home and plan to go here. Make it a stop while visiting other sites or while on a road trip to Centrai.

I passed through this iconic landmark while on a hike. It was certainly amaxing to see such a thing still existed. There were many bats overhead but it provided a mysterious and adventurous opportunity for us hikers

Even though the drive was long, it was well signed so we didn't need a map. The site can do with a little sprucing up - paint, lights in the tunnel, some park benches and bins near the tunnel. Area is a bit lonely but the children appreciated the history.
