The True Name of this Church is "Iglesia San Francisco" This Icon can be seen from miles away as it's exterior is very bright and uniquely painted. Truly a simplistically adorned facility with a marvelous wooden themed interior. Take the time to enjoy this local...More

Looks nice but this church is under renovation like many others on the island - be warned. We could not enter, but instead took photos from afar.

This was right in the middle of town. We went and checked it out and ran by the mall and grabbed something to eat.

The church was colourful on the outside with a beautiful wooden interior. It was situated next to a nice town square. Easy to find as the yellow spires were clearly visible once you are near the centre of Castro.

Churches reflect the people who live in the community. This church is a complex reflection of European influence and Chilean culture. Worth the visit.

The outer colour is yellow and purple and the inside is all made by wood. Its really impressive and you hardly see such a delicate wooden architecture. A place you will find it's uniqueness and find peace.

This church is one of the Chiloe Jesuit churches and the biggest that we saw. It is fascinating because absolutely everything inside, including all the statues, is made of wood. The outside is covered in metal and painted yellow and purple. Definitely worth a visit
