Good Museum. It will give you a good and complete panorama of the history and traditions of Chiloe. It is a small museum and even a meticulously visit will take about 1 ½ hour. It is near the main square, so you can visit Ancud city center at the same time.

The museum was very nice. There were many exhibits detailing native artifacts and lifestyle. There is a variety of items, including crafts, church relics, fossils, and photographs. Our family really enjoyed.

We drove her on a Saturday after having checked opening hours, but as we arrive it was closed. there was no information or signs other than a sign that tells you it should be open as it was Saturday at 11.30. This was also the case for tojer museums in Ancud.

The museum is nice and looks pretty good but has no English translations anywhere which is too bad.. so if you can't read Spanish, it's not really worth visiting. Free though!

Nice to do on a wet day... there seem to be a few in Ancud! No cost to enter. It’s not huge but packed with history, mostly all in Spanish. Nicely presented. The blue whale skeleton is impressive.

This is a free museum that goes through the history of the Isla de Chiloé in terms of colonization and civilization, religion, and natural elements of the island. They have lots to read and look at inside, from pottery to weavings to religious elements, and lots of things outside as well, including a ship and a blue whale skeleton. Very interesting place to visit to get more information about the island and it's history.

The museum was chock full of information. They did a really great job covering the whole history of the island. Would highly recommend this for everyone who visits Chiloe.

This museum is relatively large compared to the other museums on Chiloe. In the yard was a skeleton of a blue whale, an animal that are sometimes seen in the local waters. The prehistoric section with stone tools were good. I especially like the downstairs exhibit that showed how the local textiles were made, dyed, spun and woven as well as the finished result. I thought it was well done.
