This is definitely NOT a stroll in the park, it’s a challenging hike up a Rocky Mountain track in possibly tropical conditions depending on time of year.
You will definitely need decent training shoes or better still hiking boots unlike some of the people I passed in flip flops!!!
Take plenty of water (at least 2 Ltr),sun cream, insect repellent and possibly a sugar snack as you will definitely be sweating!!!
All that said, after around 2 hours you should reach it’s peak you will definitely be rewarded with spectacular views.
Unfortunately it’s the descent after that and in my opinion a tougher walk back down than up but a great adventure if like me you get bored of sitting around a pool or beach.
Cost is 300 Bhat which seems to be normal for entering a National park.
Please don’t attempt this if you are not fairly fit, you have been warned 😂😂

Shame about the staff that work here. Rude and not letting us enter without a mask. Catch it is tho, they told us this while not wearing a musk themselves. Haha their intelligence is entertaining tho

The track can be hard for some people, especially if the weather is hot, it can take more than 2h getting to the top but the views are worth it.

Dragon Crest Mountain (Khao Ngon Nak) Viewpoint is perfect for tropical adventurers & great for nature photography. It's Located in Nong Thale (30km northwest of Krabi Town & 18 km north of Ao Nang ), finding the departure point of the trail is not easy so it is recommended to catch a guide or a local driver. The trail begins with a small map at the entrance to introduce the general area and brief information about the trail and you can park your motorbike there. 3.7 Kilometers long Trail to the summit is nestled amongst the jungle. It takes about 2.5 hours to reach the highest viewpoint (565m asl). The climb is not very difficult. Along the way, hikers encounter a stream, two viewpoints, a waterfall, and last the panoramic summit. The trail to the summit is inconspicuous & a local’s secret hideout, so it's better to go there in the day light and because of krabi's tropical weather, it's better to start the trail early in the morning. You may have some difficulties to reach the peak but when you get to the summit, you will see spectacular view and you will attain superb feelings over there. Don’t hesitate! Hit the Summit.

The views at the top are fantastic, definitely worth the effort. The way to the top though is very tough. You see all types of individuals in different physical shapes that either gave up or turned back around. This place can really get the best put of you. Make sure to bring plenty of water!!

Even if it was a long and sometimes steep way up the hill, the view from the top made it worth it. It is free to enter but you can leave some money in the tip box at the entry.
