Its a lovely stop-over on the way to San Cristobal from Tuxtla, the moorish architecture is stunning and they take care of it. Its similar to Tepoztlan with the markets and masses of tourists walking along.

It's a nice little cafe with good coffee just near the church heading to the water. Calle 5 de Febrero #21. The staff are really welcoming and friendly. The bathroom is clean. They also sell and grind fresh beans.

You can do el cañon in the morning and then Chiapa de Corzo in the afternoon. You have to be open minded to traditions and walk down the streets.

There are a lot of stores to buy souvenirs. They are reasonable prices. This was the only place where I saw beautiful shoes that are hand painted.

We went to this town after visiting the Cañon del Suridad. Quaint town to visit but nothing outstanding. The town square had a beautiful moorish building. The rest was your typical tourist area -- locals selling/begging to sell their wares. Nothing extra ordinary to see.

Came to visit Cañón del Sumidero and the town square. During April the climate was hot and humid. Hat and sunscreen are a must. Cañón del sumidero needs no introduction and is something you can't miss. Chapa de Corzo town square keeps the "Pila fountain"...More
