We attended the 12 noon Mass here. It was beautiful. The bells sound just like the ones in Venice and at each hour you can see one of the 12 apostles pass by the clock, just like they do in the Prague, Czech Republic. The cathedral is Iit up at night and there is also a mosaic of the apostle Mark made by an Italian artist to the left of the facade.

The Catedral de San Marcos has a nice Glockenspiel at every full hour, but it is especiall good for start exploring the towen centre. It is just a 15 minutes walk from Parque de la Marimba, and to the south is a the lively market and shopping area.

This is probably the only funny Cathedral I've ever seen. When the [tinny] bells ring out the hour, strange, amateurish-looking figured come out of the tower and March around. It's well worth a trip just to see it.

Very big building, the bells are very particular, instead the usual big bells in churchs here there are numerous small bells with a very particular sound. You must listen them also if you are catholic the ceremony is very nice.
