the place is amazing, a Romanian Stonehenge. the area is famous for its legends about the energetic fields here and the hidden Dacic treasures. Fortunately, the road towards Sarmisegetusa was finished and the access is easier now. Accommodation can be booked in the village nearby: Costesti. the place is amazing, a real romanian stonhenge. there are plenty of legends about the energy, the hidden tresures and all kind of things. the view is great, too bad that the acces is not very friendly. either you go by foot, either by a 4x4 SUV. too bad there are no touristic facilities:no guide, no story, no explenations. just... This is one of the UNESCO World heritage sites filled with mistery and little known. http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/906 The legends of the Dacian gold treasures are everywhere in the Hunedoara county, central Romania. I've seen Egyptian, Maya and Inca sites , and the Dacian site Sarmisegetusa doesn't compare to any of these, because there's only a very small part of the ancient greatness of this place that is still standing . After conquesting Dacia, the Romans made sure they destroy the sacred place of Dacian civilisation , and of course rip off the... More
