Been there twice. Love the atmosphere and people. I'm a birder myself and this was a great place to see various species of both endemic and migrate. Highly recommend when visiting Pattalung.

Just WOW. If you need something for your soul and mind, go there. Take a longtailboat for 450 Baht and cruise over the lake. So beautiful. The quietens and the peace is real relaxing. You see the Lotus Flower ins different kind of colors. Birds, Buffalo bathing and the local people doing their work on the lake. Will come back... More

I was lucky enough to be taken around with locals. Phatthalung or just north could be a good base. We stayed in a resort next to west end of the bridge. Try to ride over the bridge with stops for water, birdsss, and water buffalo views. Renting a boat /driver for some morning or late afternoon rides is a must!... More

Fr hatyai to pattalung bus station by minivan 80baht ,and fr pattalung to thale noi 70 baht.We reached there about 10:30am ,a bit late.And it was heavy rain fr minute 5th that lasts about 10 min.Whole boat ride is more than 1 hour.The boat itself is long ,narrow and shallow.We saw very few pink lotus but quite a number of... You do not need to be an ornitolog to like this place. The lake is a fantastic place with around 150 different kinds of birds, small "roads" for the boats between all green vegetables. We also saw waterbuffles during this one hour trip. If you have the possibility to go there in the morning (we did not), there are 1000´s... More

Stopped by this place for a few hours to enjoy nature - Very beautiful and nature lake, I saw so many birds, water plants, lotus and buffalos enjoyed themselves playing in the water - We drove from Hadyai to Phattalung via Ranod district. A local Thai friend arranged this trip which is not introduced by a guide book. 6 tourists were on board small boat with engine. From Sri Pak Pra in Songkhla lake passing through in a mangroves , after that we come to Thale Noi. Nearby bridge, we saw many of white small birds started to fly, showing very beautiful scenery.... We hired a boat for an hour for 450 baht. The boatman was great taking us to see the different sites and slowing down each time I raised my camera to take a photograph, In the end we were almost 2 hours for the same price.
