Okay this is quite out of the way and on most days nothing all that special - so why 5 stars? Because if you go there on the right day and there are tons of people milling about and boiling eggs in the hot springs and eating som tam and just having fun, it's a great slice of old style Thai life - something that's getting increasing difficult to find. There are also some nice caves nearby and a waterfall during rainy season

This spot is nice, we really enjoyed it. The surroundings are really beautiful. The only problem is that it was packed. Also, the waterfall is nearby- unfortunately they concreted the pool where the water from the waterfall drops so it's not very natural. Loved riding on motorcycles through the nature and towns to get here.

The main pool was under repair when i visited, which may be a long term condition at the park since it is thailand. but there are still places to soak your feet in the springs in the developed section of the park. of course there are several places to get a light meal or snack. a nice waterfall is also there to enjoy but there is a best kept secret, too. go up the trail behind the falls and you will reach an open concrete warm pool that feeds the falls to also bathe in.

Everyone seems thrilled to buy fresh eggs in a woven basket to slip into the bubbling water. There are no recipe signboards so you need to know how long it takes to boil an egg. Slip you feet into the hot stream but be careful. Some places have cold water added so look for these. Many small restaurants are ready to plate up baked chicken and other local delights.

This is a nice little park in an otherwise mostly farming district but don't expect too much. If it was not for the signature fountain shown in all the photos I would have ,missed this one riding around on my Scooter

Where do I pick up the local transport to get to the Maekasa Hot Springs? How do I get back?

I'm in Mae Sot. Where do I find the local transport to take us to the hot springs? Is it in the Burmese market?
