This is a really nice rock formation at one end of the large valley for Seoraksan. The cable car ride up was breathtaking, as well as the views from the viewing area and the 'Fortress'. There is no actual fortress and is wholly naturally formed, but it is worth the 5-10 minutes extra walk from the top of the cable car to view. Bring sturdy shoes for this, as the rock surface can be smooth and steep.

An excellent view and terrific photo opportunity. Arrive early to avoid the congestion of others. Cable car tickets must be purchased on site the day of use and the earlier the better.

It's a really accessible photo spot with really great views all around. I would recommend continue walking along the path and not just staying where everyone are taking photos.

A crowded cable car takes thrill seekers to the top and once on the arrival platform the spectacular view unfolds. However, the more fit and adventurous should take the steep and uneven path to the top of the hill. The views are indescribably beautiful and well worth the trouble. Wear good walking shoes, take your camera and be careful.

You can take the cable car to reach this natural Fortress. There is not much fortress to see at the top, but the views on the surroundings are gorgeous. Be warned though, the cable car is very popular, because after taking it, it is only a small hike to the viewpoint. So waiting lines can be long and the viewpoint itself can also be rather busy.

I took the cable car, which costs 10,000 won for a 2 way trip. The ride is short, only 5 mins. At the top there is a snack bar and rest area. It takes about 10 mins to climb up the steps and reach the strange rock formation called the fortress. It was not overly crowded as the area is spacious. Unfortunately, it was drizzling and foggy when I was there. I managed to take a few clear shots in between the fog arriving and disappearing. Disappointed not able to have a clear view of the surroundings. I spent about 20 mins before descending back to cable car station.

To reach here you catch the rather expensive cable car and then walk up the path about 100 meters. It's just a rocky outcrop with a view.

Suggest to go early in the morning to take the cable car, which costs 10000won for a two way trip. Bear in mind to check out the seorak cable car website before coming, as the opening hours of the cable car change across each day.

From the cable car, it's an upslope climb of about 10 to 15minutes, but is generally manageable as there are stairways and walking path provided.

There is a snack bar at the cable car station at the top. At the ground level, there is a cafe within the cable car station, which is a good and reasonably-priced lunch spot after coming down from the ride.

At the top, it can be windy so be mindful especially when taking photos. But overall, its a good view from the top of Sokcho and surrounding mountain ranges.
