We went there on a tour from Seoul and we had a great time. It takes about 2 hours to get there but it is worth the trip. Take the cable car to the top of the mountain for some spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. It is the Yosemite of Korea and well worth the visit. The huge Buddha and the adjacent temple are fun to see. There are many hiking trails in the park to suit everyone from the beginner to the fit expert. I would definitely visit the site

They open at 9 o'clock in the morning.
So, I couldn't get help when I started hiking in the early morning.
The access to the mountain is available, though.

Just after you pay your entrance fee and pass through the gate you will find the Visitors Center on the left. Pay them a visit and ask any question you like, especially trail conditions. The staff are very friendly and will be eager to answer your questions. Make sure you pick up a map in English (i have forgotten but there may be maps in other languages too.

Cable car is fun to do and a walk to the waterfalls is recommended if you are fit enough. Environment is beautiful.
