Nice view when you walk around the hill. Beautiful sunset in the mountains. The are a lot of monkeys in the staircases when you walk up the hill. In fact we did not reach the hill because of the monkeys which are pestering. When you walk up you are advised to hide everything you have e.g. camera shoes beacuse the... More

This place looks so magical upon the approach and we stopped to take endless photos, but we regret climbing the steps to the top as it just spoils the mystery and magic. The bare-foot ascent is up dirty, smelly steps, surrounded by litter and covered in 100's of monkeys. The top is just a mish-mash of buildings which were built... More

When you visit to Bagan (Myanmar), you should go Mt. Popa. It is only 2:30 hour drive from Bagan to Popa.

We had lunch overlooking Mount Popa so was great fun to walk up to the top and enjoy the views. As with all temples you must remove your shoes, so good idea to bring wipes to clean your feet afterwards as there are lots of monkeys during the first steps. Not a hard climb, lots of places to rest and... More

Very cheap if you take a shared taxi to travel. Worth it for the sunset view and surroundings but such a dirty place... There were a lot of monkeys and local people sell food to tourists that ends up on the ground with the rest of the trash. Some guardians were also throwing rocks with sling shots at the monkeys... Mt Popa is a buddhist temple complex perched on top of a stand alone 1500 metre volcanic plug, an amazing site as you approach to it. The temple itself can only be approached through one of two walkways and is about 700+ steps some quite steepish and including a short ladder climb. It also involves running a bit of a... More

I expected more from this tourist attraction. The taxiride to the place is a bumpy one but interesting.the mountain looks nice on the outside but when you go up, its like a souvenir shopping centre with many aggressive monkeys. The view on the top is nice and thats the only possitive thing about it

It is interesting to see more about the local culture... the all the dirtness left by the monkeys is terrible. If don't have extra time it is better to keep exploring the old temples!

A buddhist temple on top of an very high mountain top. The only way up is walk (about 700+ steps). A great view at the top but not much more to do than to walk down again.

This hotel is a high lwvel hotel but not as we expected. We had a hot water problem for the first 4 hours of our stay and the only compensation that we were offered was 35% discount on the dinner food ( not drinks... ) which summs to 4 dollars 😊 We did not argue but will never come back.
