Bagan is a must visit for anyone coming to Myanmar. The sheer number of temples in the area is remarkable. Some of the larger temples were nice to visit, but it was also unique to be able to visit the smaller temples on your own without the crowds. Sunrise and sunset viewing from some of the larger temples was beautiful,... More

This was just amazing and out of this world....everywhere you look, there are just stupas dotting the landscape. We did a cycle tour which we would recommend to see various temples, and we also did a horse and cart for sunset to some of the temples- both are the best ways just as you get off beaten track and see... The whole of Bagan is a museum of Buddhist Temples built during the 12th century and earlier . We had a difficult time choosing which to visit as there are 3000plus temples , pagodas and stupas. We left the choice to our guide and we were not disappointed . Not to be missed by those interested in ancient cultures and... More

The Bagan temples are a complete delight! Over 2500 temples to choose from and each is quite different from the next. We enjoyed renting an e scooter for 2 days and blazing our own trails. Its really hard to go wrong. Some have fantastic frescoes. Others have giant Buddhas hidden deep inside. Some stupas are simply stunning in their gold... More

One of Asia's best kept secrets. I have never seen anything like Bagan. Time travelers' haven. Truly, a must experience. Only the best, Lucas Raven

Actually this is my first time to Myanmar and the most enjoyable time for me. I see many temples when was at the top of the Shwesandaw pagoda at sunset time. It was really great to see 2000 over pagodas from the same palce.

We have been planning our trip to Bagan for a long time and knew exactly how we wanted to explore the area and which pagodas and temple were on our top 100 list, it needs several other trips to get close to seeing half of the 2000 plus temples. Truly an amazing experience and worth waiting and planning for. We... More

It's difficult to take it all in. My wife was able to arrange a balloon flight at dawn and found it wonderful and unfirgett6. ABOUT $400 US.

Although there are many tourists, it's still a breathtaking experience to see the many beautiful pagodas. Rent an ebike and get to see many other different places off the beaten track.

It will be impossible to see everything (+2,000) so be strategic. Read your guide books and pick the ones that sound interesting to you. With a little planning, one can feel like having visited them all.
