Tharabar Gate is not the place you need to make a special trip for when in Bagan. Its likely you'll pass thru' it whatever your transport mode. If you weren't aware, you would not know that you have just passed through it. Its interesting from...More

It's a must stop and see item in all the guide books but most people really just drive through with their bikes, except for a few local women who take care of the statues and the flowers. Luckily it is not open for cars and...More

Learnt about the local history. Saw lots of locals going about their daily life. Always smiling and loving their photos being taken.

A considerable remnant of what appears to have been a considerable wall. As Bagan was originally a walled city, no visit to Bagan could truly be appreciated without understanding the original nature of the city, and seeing that for oneself.

Not much there to see. You can miss this. It might be on your road in any case but do not make a detour to see this. There are many much better places to go to.

The entrance way to old Bagan, you will most likely see it as part of your travels in the area. No real need to go out of your way to see it with all the incredible temples to see.

We passed by this gate on a horse Cart and took some pictures. That was all there is to do. The part of the wall that is old is impressive. As for the reconstructed parts they do not impress.
