This place is nice for photo shooting and to know the historical places in Aceh, but there is nothing here. Only this building and a little museum but it is not opened everyday.

Gunongan Park was built as a playground for the Princess Phang, the wife of Sultan Iskandar Muda.

The gate keeper allowed us to enter the building and climb the stairs..beautiful!!!

It is very close to Museum Tsunami.

Sultan Iskandar Muda, a famous ruler in Aceh history, married a princess from Pahang (Malaysia). At times, Princess Kamaliah felt homesick. The Sultan made her a replica of the mountains from her homeland. Gunongan Park offered her a personal space. A place to be alone. There is a small "well" by the side of the park where the Princess had used it for washing her hair. Walking through the small corridor with head bent, one wonders if she was a small sized princess. The view from on top of the Gunongan, resplendent! Thanks to our Aceh tour guide, Muhid (+6285261463396) for making it possible for us to experience the view from atop Gunongan.

If you like a glimpse of Aceh's Sultan Iskandar Muda history you might want to visit this place.

Dedicated by the Sultan to his wife who was homesick, this was a pleasure garden which later become the tomb of the Sultan's daughter.

What interesting from this historical site is how they built it. It used eggs as cement.

You have to lower your head to enter this place as a simbol of humbleness.

The entry to this place is free and if you like history, you will like this place.

This Place Had Some Story. Exactly One Story Telling Sultan Iskandar Muda (The Aceh King On That Time) Make The Pool And Park For Some Princess, Where The Front Picture You See Is A Gate Between A Castle And A Park. A Gate Is Making From Egg. Really Egg. The Story Said It's Combination Between A Egg Shell With White Egg Part. It's Just Like Cement. But It's Also A Good Place For Photo And Not Far From Museum And Wong Solo Restaurants
