Not for the faint hearted as you get to see pigs and buffaloes being slaughtered. Look away . But there were singing and dancing. Speeches can be long .

Awesome view of the mountains and the plateaus surrounding the area. The tokonans (Toraja traditional houses) gives you a very original feeling with deep meanings. Recomended places for a deep culture explorers: Palawa, kete'kesu, and Londa. Experience the most expensive and sacred funerals too.

The landscape of stone cliff with trees was beautiful. Even we can only see THE scenery from distance in a small traditional cafe.

Drove from the capital to Toraja - took around 6-7 hours. Fly in is maybe possible now, but was not an option 1 yr ago. The air strip is present but as far as understood not actively used.

there are plenty of guides available. Once you show interest, all will be organized for you. Best to take a guide to see the most. Doing it all yourself is difficult
