The place has an entry fee of 20 rupees. It's shows the golden City created by Lord Indra for the Lord Rishabhdev before his birth. The architecture is quite marvelous. It's just that there are many stairs with different elevations. So, for elderly people, it's a bit difficult.

A city of Ajmer in Rajasthan, India; is mainly famous for its Temples and tombs
One of the famous Jain temples is known as Lal Mandir ( red temple) , which belongs to the earlier school of Jainism - known as Digamber sect. This temple is dedicated to the first Tirthankara - Rishabh dev .
Next to the main temple is an old and beautiful haveli, turned into a museum. . It is exhibiting the life of Rishabh dev (adinath ), from his birth, renunciation, enlightenment to salvation, in a marvelous model called city of gold or swarna nagari.
The remarkable detailed work of model city is gilded in gold with wooden framework from floor to ceiling including walls. This golden chamber of the temple uses 1000 kg of gold to carve out a depiction of Ayodhya.
This unique and extra ordinary work was initiated by Seth Moolchand Soni, who was a Jain merchant.
A small place brings in big surprises !!
The museum is open daily between 6 am to 8 pm. There is an entrance fee. No footwear allowed in the temple or museum .

Viewing Gallery up a steep staircase climb on 2 floors.
The first gives description and and the second a bigger view.
All cast in holder colour it is well sculptured and designed. Do not miss it. Describes the birth of the first jain thirthankar.
Adjacent is the Digambar jain temple meant for visit by jains only.
pretty rude chowkidar who says private property and I am whole and sole and you answer to me only. Can be a little polite. The painting and the haveli style courtyard is ancient and well preserved

Other people except from Jain are not allowed to go inside main temple. It's also called Lal mandir. There is museum which is main attention of this place. It's beautiful recreation of the golden city of Ayodhya. Normal charge of ticket that's not costly. A great work to design this. All are covered with glass, you cannot enter in main area. Transport like auto is available to come here.

Towfiek has described the sites in Ajmer extremely well giving you the details for ease of travel.
You should make it a point to go to Adhai din ka Jhonpara which is within walking distance of the Dargah Shareef. Some excellent architecture to see here for free.
The Brahma Temple at Pushkar is a one of a kind which I think you should visit.
Hope this helps and wish you a safe trip.
