Lonely structure- A beautiful abode...

This is a small church having a wonderful location... The church was closed during the time I visited but seeing it from outside was also a great experience...

Standing tall, even after a 100 odd years, is this Victorian architectural wonder of the Saint Mary's Church located near the Golf Course in Gulmarg. This might well be your messiah to experiencing the ancient architectural wonders that our country is the most renowned for.

The church was shut when we went but it’s a beautiful structure situated as a standalone building in the middle of nothing else around, except lush green fields and the golf course or 3 sides and the valley on the 4th! It had rained the day we went and it was a little slushy to walk to the church from... More

60 years ago I worshiped in St Mary's. At Easter there used to be a sunrise service on the grounds outside this quaint and lovely church. Today it still stands, serene and alone atop a grassy knoll. It is in a sad state of disrepair with the West door stonework crumbling.Inside the wooden arched ceiling and the choir stall with... More

We visited 3rd week april and at first thought it was shut, but a few of our group managed to cross the field which was wet and cold.....well worth it as the church was simply immaculate. So well maintained, spic and span, the peace makes you want to sit a while longer.

We loved the views ..... Very peaceful indeed...... The church is not very big though.....but suits good in the locality.....Nice place. Beaurtiful church. It looks like an abandon building. From afar it looks ok so i only took a look from a distance and took some photos. However the greenery around the building was good.

Small church, a short walk from Nedous hotel. Can skip unless you have too much time in hand. It was closed when we went.

St. Mary's is a small church and if the caretaker wouldn't have informed us that there are no Christians in Gulmarg then we would have believed that there are church goers here. It is pretty well maintained and the interiors are minimalistic. Yet to know that the English at some point used this as a retreat destination, erected a place... More

Can only be enjoyed from the outside as we could not see any sign of any activity- completely shut and no sign to say when it would be open or when Mass might be celebrated. Only possible to see if staying or visiting the Highland Park hotel- which is itself out of the way.
