Gulmerg is very beautiful hill Station in Kashmir. In winter is covered by Snow. Gondola ride is very exciting experience. Maharaja palace, Shiva temple,Golf course, Snow adventure games, church etc many more.... are very beautiful.
Bota Pathri (Gulmerg wildlife sanctuary) is situated about 12 KM from Gulmerg is also very beautiful.
In summer season strawberry 🍓 valley may be memorable destination.

Though the wait in the queue was quite awhile, it was well worth it. Phase one was nothing much, but phase 2 by gondola was spectacular. The highlight of our Gulmarg trip. November is a good month to visit, as it is completely snow clad and the view of the snow range is breathtaking. Our guide Farooq was so helpful, willing and took us to the best stops. He was so caring, making sure we didn't slip on the snow. A fabulous experience.

As soon as you enter Gulmarg , poney riders hassle you for a ride, it is better to go to the parking on extreme left till the entry gate from where you can walk 1 km to the Gondola on tar road . If the weather is good you can go to phase I and enjoy a small hike to the waterfalls and the meadows , otherwise nothing much to do there.

After 2 Gandola Rides, you reach at Apharwat Peak.
Long Gandola Queue is only painful untill you reach this place.
You will forget all pains once you reach here.
A huge landscape topped with snow.
We visited in June 22 & still found lot of snow.

We were lucky to be on the top when the weather was clear....really a stunning view.We stayed there for almost half an hour and then weather started getting bad so took the gondola back to 1st phase where we spent some time and had some snacks etc.
But unfortunately while driving down from Gulmarg to tangmarg we were stuck in traffic jam for almost for hour and a half which was a very bad experience...total mismanagement of traffic.... I guess needs to be taken care of...otherwise Gulmarg is an amazing place to visit in the paradise.

You will get down in 2nd phase of gondola ride, which is the place you asked about. See weather updates from Google maps to know more on weather.
What would it be like in second half of July ? I'll be there around 20th July.

It should still be very scenic - and if the Phase 2 of the Gondola ride is on, you must definitely do it

Hi! Here's my view - Stay at Srinagar. Decide once you land after checking locally whether it is still snowing in Gulmarg (or if the snow hasnt melted yet) We were there last week and it was snowing. You can then do both - do a day trip to Gulmarg ( 65 kms each way from Srinagar) and Pahalgam (135 km each way) - Another tip. Choose any day other than Sunday or Wednesday to do the Srinagar - Pahalgam day trip. These are days in the week when the Army Convoys pass, when they do - the traffic is stopped. We took 6 hours for a 2.5 hour trip from Pahalgam to Srinagar because of convoy passing halts about five times on the route.
The stays in Gulmarg & Pahalgam cost as much as staing in a five star in Srinagar (and do not deliver on value for money) - so you are better off staying in Srinagar all through and doing day trips to Gulmarg/Sonmarg/Pahalgam etc
Have a fun time

Looks difficult. If you are lucky, very little at the upper most level. But you will get awesome view of green valley and snow peaks for sure.

Trip for 7days/6nights
We are a couple and would like to enjoy snow and do sightseeing. We are planning from 27th December 2018 to 3th January 2019. Kindly help sushi out with the following.
Which location is the best to visit for snow and scenery- Auli, Manali, Gulmarg.
Are the locations accessible now.

Though all these 3 places are great to visit in December, since your main reason for visit is to experience snow, I shall recommend Gulmarg. In end December you can be sure of getting snow and snowfall for sure, the other 2 places generally experience snow from January. All the places are easily accessible during your chosen period of travel. I strongly suggest you to visit Gulmarg and stay at least for 3 nights. Do visit Apharwat and Kongdor for sure.
