You can reach there by taking the Phase 2 gondola. Amazing view, you actually feel on top of the world. Air is thin so walk slowly and breath easy.

This is the phase 2 of Gulmarg. Breath taking and stunning view. A must visit with time on hand to enjoy the view. Gondola ride from phase 1 will take you to phase 2. The ride is steep and occasionally the electricity goes off when the gondola stops and also when wind velocity is high it stops.

This is the most inportant part of Gulmarg. Take the gondila and first go here . Spend some time walming around . Go to the post and as high as you can. The phase one os commercial and a waste. This peak is peaceful. Bo activities here but just pure clean snow. Be careful of your brradth. Every penny you pay here is worth it . The rest is all a tourist trap.

We took Gondola and reached to phase 2. The shoulder of Apharwat peak. ( 14403) It took 12 minutes.
The scenic views of mountains and valleys during the cable car ride are also unforgettable and unmatched. Here we felt very very quiet and peaceful. The view from the peak is amazing. Being surrounded with snow laden peaks as far as one can see is really amazing.
On this level the oxygen level goes down so be little careful as the air is very thin.

We notice an army camp close to the gondola station. We walk towards it. We walk in soft snow which is ankle-deep.Hats of to Indian soldiers staying in such adverse conditions.

As we come closer, we see Igloo shaped tent housing soldiers. Look at the harsh conditions these soldiers work. Hats off to them!!

I recommend everyone to go in between March and May. The temperature is round about 4-9 degrees and at night it is about 1-2 degrees.
In April you will not find snow in first level and so no activities will be possible.

We spent our day in white washed environs. In unspoilt nature.

To see the apharwat peak, one needs to go trekking from second phase of gondola ride. We visited gulmarg in winter and went for a gulmarg ride.... We could go till kongdoori but not till apharwat peak near apharwat lake as strong winds started blowing in the second phase

This has to be heaven on earth. The snow and the mountains and the clouds make you feel like you are walking in heaven.
The main attraction here is the skiing. A must must must visit place. I was in trance because of the beauty of this place.
