This is beautiful temple complex with buildings spanning several dynasties. Located about 27.5 km from the center of the city, the temple is home to several living 1000+ year trees, the most notable of them all a 3000 year old cypress tree that is rumored to have been planted by Ji Yu from the Wei dynasty. During my visit this... More

I absolutely loved visiting Jinsi. It was a beautiful day when I went, and the climate was excellent. There is a lot to see there, and it is surrounded by beautiful scenery and a clear flowing creek. There weren't any English speaking tour guides there, but there was ample English to read, so I don't feel like I missed out... More

A must do in Taiyuan, the garden was tranquil and beautiful. There was not many tourists when visited which enhanced our enjoyment. There were many original carvings and calligraphy written by the emperors.

It is a nice 900yr. Temple complex (the original one 3000 yr. Ago has been destroyed by fire.) It is actually a memorial hall..The first building is an opera house. They used to held opera performances for the mother, a high ranked concubine. It's all built for the brother of the emperor. There are several buildings and a garden. It... More

I had never seen a 3,000 year old temple in such good condition before. Surviving the test of time it is a gem hidden away in Taiyuan with so much history to offer. The maids statues are still in its original condition. The first cross bridge of China and the immortal Spring were the highlight of the visit. The father... More

We hired a tour guide who was professional, but couldn't translate and I think no-one could. Despite this it was a spectacular tour of the Royal Temple grounds and I was lucky to have my friends to translate for me. We went in the Chinese New Year vacation so the small lakes turned in to beautiful pictures of ice. It... More

Though it is a long-story temple, I do not think I visited at a good time because there were a large quantity of visitors. So remember to avoid travelling peak time.

A beautiful and relaxing park, with huge ancient trees (some of them said to be more than 2000 years old), temples with beautiful architecture, old statues and legends associated with them, which all made our visit to Jinsi Temple a very pleasant, interesting and relaxing experience...

The Jinci Temple is a very old spiritual place and worth to visit because of rare and uncommon sculptures, art, architecture and legends which point back to pre-Buddhism times and a visit of the temple can be combined with walking around and enjoying some relaxing time with family or friends in the connected beautiful Jinci Park. Jinci Temple is located... More
