I visited the buddha a couple of years ago, not in 2015, which is offered by system.There were a large number of visitors then. The green mountain, clean stream, natural scenes made me wanna go there again.

This Buddha is over 1400 years old and it is located in a great forest with a nice walk through the trees and beside streams . It is a fantastic monument and if you are on Taiyuan well worth the visit .

Of all the sights I saw in China, this one was the most moving and fascinating. If you are near, make the time to trek to the Mengshan Buddha. You won't be disappointed.
