A must see when in Mosselbay. Very educational and quite easy to find. Friendly Staff. Was bit shocked at aquarium images/sketches maybe a few upgraded images/sketches would be nice. Most beautiful view from their outside benches.

This was a pleasant outing. You got to board the Bartholomeu Dias ship, the ship that sailed the spice route. There are a lot of little interesting places to go within the Museum, Shell Museum where there is a touch pool. Skeletons of a Whale,...More

Check out how a replica boat was built to follow a boat that sailed from Portugal to Mosel Bay in 1488 replicated the journey. Amazing how the original trip was done.

Most impressive is the full scale replica of the ship that Dias had sailed, which was built and then sailed from Portugal to Mossel Bay in 1988 to commemorate the 500 anniversary of Dias' original trip to that place. The adjacent aquarium in the complex...More

I had less time to explore it than I wanted, however it is a fantastic place to visit. I especially loved the old photos of various mountain passes in the region, being someone who enjoys exploring passes. The setting is amazing, it has beautiful trees,...More

We visited the complex mainly because of the postbox tree and were surprised by the nice and interesting shell musuem. A visit on the ship finalised our visit. Highly recommended for rainy days.
