Did the hike around the rim of the crater. About an 2 hour hike of 4KM and 180m of elevation. Some parts are more challenging but overall good hike also for beginners.

My 4 colleagues and I had a terrible experience at this establishment because of the hotel manager whose name is John. Our travel agent had booked 4 rooms and paid in full in advance. When we got there, we found that John had given out our rooms and he was insisting that he will take us to an accommodation outside the hotel (which he did not want to give the name of the place). When we confronted him about this, he was very rude to us and he kept on lying which pushed us to involve our travel agent. He did not want to admit that he accepted money from other people mainly because it was during the safari rally weekend. We ended up having to go back to Nairobi in the middle of the night because all the hotels in Naivasha were fully booked. This was such a bad experience and even worse we did not get an apology from John. We chose the place because it was beautiful and serene, it's so sad we did not get to stay because of the manager's greed.

I would love to go back only if John is not the manager.

Located off the beaten path and absolutely worth the trip. We enjoyed our walk up to the highest point and the view was breathtaking. The food and service at floating restaurant was superb!
A great place to visit while in Naivasha.

We went to the sanctuary with our guide John (through Fishermen`s Camp in Naivasha). We did a hike meeting giraffe and other animals in the wild on foot. This is a very different experience to the car safaris. John guided us around the buffaloes. The landscape was stunning and we enjoyed our hike a lot. It ended at the lake, where we had a tasty lunch on the floating pavilion in the lake while watching bird and giraffe drinking from the lake.

We went to Crater Lake without a guide, and had a lovely time. The staff directed us to the start of the route around the crater rim. The path is well-marked with arrows on painted on stones, so there was no possibility of getting lost. Lovely views across the crater. The walk is rocky and uneven in places, so not suitable for everyone.
After the walk we had lunch in the restaurant - which was beside the lake at the bottom of a lot of steps. But, hey, we had lunch in the crater of a volcano! The food was good and the staff attentive.
After lunch we went for a game drive around the park. There was not much wildlife to see, but that didn't matter, because the main purpose of our visit was the walk around the crater rim.

We had been to crater lake which was quite good for
A mountain hike experience and animal seeing .. It is a 2 hr complete mountain hike on top of the mountain but we couldn’t do it as it was not easy to do with a child . So we went to the crater lake view point by walk and later went ahead for seeing the animal in our private car and it was amazing experience ... and finally seeing the Lake Naivasha was worth watching .. make sure to take a guide because guide can tell you so many stories and facts about the place ..

It is surrounded by a beautiful volcanic crater lake fringed with acacias. The jade-green crater volcanic lake is held in high regard by the local Maasai.

Terrible experience ... we had to paid a costly entrance fee for what ... nothing!!! You can not even walk around the lake as they did not clean the path..tall grass and bushes all on the path.,
You are expected to pay to enter into crater lake sanctuary and indeed you waste your money ... the place is dirty, not well maintained and ... nothing especial..,
I would not suggest to waste your money to enter into this place ...
If you are around naivasha I would suggest to rent a boat I naivasha country club and have a nice ride all around the lake .. beautiful experience.
For crater lake game sanctuary ... just avoid it.. I complained and asked to speak with the director but they said it was off duty...but Ut was an excuse as it was a working day and in working hours .. this means no respect for the guest.
Will never come back again and will
Never suggest anyone to come here again.

There is the opportunity to walk around the crater or just go up to the viewing area.
The restaurant on the lake is amazing. It is down a long flight of stairs but we'll worth it.
The food is fresh and well prepared. The staff are very accommodating and it's so peaceful.

Well worth a visit.

We had a fantastic game drive to the Lake-Crater Lake after which we had a stopover at Lake Naivasha. Our guides, from Great Rift Valley Lodge and Golf Resort were very informative, we being Tour operators i must say they were very good in the job.
