A very nice museum.good educational tour for children.also one can get good pics with the preserved animals.only negative is the fish section in which aquariums seemed dirty and majority were empty.

Kisumu museum is such a cool place with rich history on Luo tribe culture.
Its definitely "a must see" place when visiting the lakeside region.
The place is a little bit deserted though. The team there need to do more marketing for this place to popularise it .

It’s nice for a casual afternoon, you can learn some interesting things about Lwa their culture and way of living. There are aquariums too, not in the best condition though, crocodiles and snakes.
The only thing I didn’t like is that guides and dancers don’t want to do their stuff if you don’t want to tip them, which is not ok since you already pay for the ticket.

We enjoyed the tribal village with dong and dance. The information about the multiple wives was facinating...even if outside my realm and culture. The music and dance was spectacular. I really enjoyed the drums and drumming. We did not actually see the museum just the grounds and the tribal village. I would recommend that if you want cultural immersion.

The main gallery has some interesting displays but all a bit dusty and dimly lit. The aquarium shows healthy fish but it is small and was unbearably hot. The tortoises and crocodiles were just that. The Luo village was very interesting and the dance that was put on for us was quite something. We did not go to the snake display. There are many weaver birds nesting in the grounds and watching their antics was almost worth the visit in itself.
