Generally for steam train aficionados - information boards would be useful, but an unusual "resting place" for British Iron Workhorses!

I stopped here as part of my salt flats tour. It was PACKED in November and really hot. We stayed for 30 minutes, but I would have been happy leaving after 10. Personally, I wouldn’t make a special trip to see rusty trains.

Worth a stop if you are a train buff, but for me, 20 minutes was plenty. There are a large number of ruined and rusted locos, nose to tail, just left to rust, likely when Bolivia lost their coastline to Chile after the Nitrate War of the 1880s. Many now covered with graffiti too, and souvenir hunters long ago removed anything removable.

If you like trains or rust this is the place for you. Otherwise be prepared to spend half an hour watching tourists take photos. No clue why all yours to the salt flats go here first and at the same time!

I loved this!

Haunting, beautiful, majestic.

The area around it is pretty dirty but the site itself is well maintained and it’s got a very calm and special presence.

We went on the way to the airport but if you have time to wander and take photos all the better.

Don't waste your money on a trip, just walk out there, its about 25 minutes along the railway. It's not a museum, don't expect any info or plaques, it is a scrap yard. Memories of days gone by.

Rather sad place as you might expect in a 'cemetery'. No information about the trains, their history and why they ceased running.

Might suit a railway enthusiast but otherwise not of great interest. I am convinced our guide took us there to use up some time so that our room would be available. Historically interesting as it was the only train route for carriage of goods.

The train cemetery was everything I was expecting it to be. An absolute tourist trap. A bunch of rusty trains with tourists climbing on them. Couldn't leave fast enough
