A must see! Be sure to stop on your way to the Piattelli Vineyard. There were people singing while we were there, the acoustics were so unique.

Great view just off route 68 to Salta. You feel the immensity of natural formations on the mountains. It does not take long, just a few minutes. A stop not to be missed.

Another stop along the Quebrada de Cafayate where you can gain easy access into a ravine in the sandstone. Access is limited and it would be much more spectacular if you could get further in.

The site is worth a stop like most of the attractions on the road to Cafayate. I found it good for a few pictures but the visit doesn't take more than 10 minutes. I really had much more fun climbing its neighbouring Garganta del Diablo. The previous night there had been a bad storm, so there were gaps full of mud that were kind of dangerous. I buried my feet and leg up to my calf in a big one.

We first stopped at Garganta del Diablo, which had many cars in the car park and a trail of tourists wandering up the canyon. Whilst beautiful, it was nothing compared to El Anfiteatro. Much harder to find the car park, so look carefully for a track after the 50m sign. When we arrived, there was only one lady on her own, signing beautiful Spanish songs. After a while, she left and I was on my own to test out my own vocal range. I never sing in front of anyone, but here I was with the ultimate acoustics to play around with. Totally magical and much better than its busy neighbour 100m away.

Worth spending a few minutes here. It is signposted from the main road and is only a couple of minutes walk from the car park. It’s interesting, but the star for me is the last 50 miles of the drive from Salta to Cafayate - it is really spectacular. Reminded me of the Badlands in the USA.

I think this place could be perfectly (and should) be used as a cultural venue for concerts and musical performances. It is worth visiting.

A beautiful narrow deep canyon at ground level that can be traversed in 5 minutes, accessing fantastic sights. Wear good shoes and take a camera.

Do not miss stopping at this site - even if just for 20 minutes. Listen to concert hall acoustics in the middle of nowhere.

Amazing views overall. Free entrance except for the trinkets you buy from the locals which are actually very nice and we bought a number of them.
