Nothing to do with the tasting experience in South Africa. I am not a wine fan, and I declare myself an ignorant on the subject, but I can certainly notice that the way this company presents itself is telling its visitors that their wines are cheap. Only a description of the process was given to us, but we were not shown the process. When the time came for tasting it, it was hard to hear. They should give a uniform to the staff and make the experience something enjoyable. This is just a cheap demonstration. Not the slightest desire to go back.

We had only a little attention from staff and felt a bit rushed (as we were the last ones of the day). But shouldn't be! We paid 50 per pax for three wines ... average and a tiny bit of a goat cheese with the red wine (this combination doesn't work). Very average overall. Industrial wines, not my cup of tea ... The Torrontes was great though.

We had visited here some years ago. It is just a block or so from the Central Plaza so no booking needed. We will return for a tasting tomorrow as we missed the 18:30 deadline but were able to walk about and buy a red and a white. Cf the pics

We rolled over to this bodega straight from winery Nanni. This outfit is bigger than the former and we got to see a little bit more, with a field full of vines at the back of the tasting area. The guide was helpful and informative again. The wine was not to the standard as Nanni, however we had plenty of it along side some cheese. If your travelling on a budget, then this place is cracking value for some wine tasting.

We visited as part of a day trying bodegas in Cafayate to taste and buy wine. Domingo Hermanos' service was cold and unwelcoming. After feeling like we had put hem out by asking to do a tasting , and paid for this, we joined a room with some other people who had already started, interupted them, and rushed through 3 quick wines (none memorable, but that wasn't the problem), to then be shepherded out again.
Highlights were the lovely garden out front, and rural bodega equipment they had on display.
Although this was our first bodega of the day, fortunately the others in town improved on here!

the fact that this bodega produces the large 5l bottles of table wine makes it stand out from the others, especially if you visit during production hours. We paid AR$25 each for a tasting of 3 different wines, a malbec, tannat and torrontes, which was accompanied by delicious goats cheese. Wines weren't the best we tried in Cafayate but the tasting was generous and we walked away feeling a little bit merrier than when we arrived.

We thought this was a slightly better tasting experience than most of the wineries we visited around Cafayate, although the wine itself was nothing special! They offer a 'young wines' tasting, costing about 25 pesos for 4 wines, and also a tasting of higher quality wines at 70 pesos for 4. What was good about it was that there was a private room especially for tastings, which was pleasant with a lovely view. Also, they gave us some cheese cubes to accompany the wine. It's not much, but it's a better effort at customer service than anywhere else we went! The staff still weren't especially enthusiastic or bothered about us being there though, and did not provide a lot of info during the tasting. The winery produces 2 or 3 different labels - the Domingo Hermanos ones are typical house wines in restaurants and not great, but we thought the Domingo Molinas ones were better. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy any of the wine we tasted though! One of the Cabernet Sauvignons was really poor.

We didn't get taken on the tour, but we had a brief wine tasting here and bought a couple of Torrontes to take home with us. Close to town, worth a visit.

You have to understand Spanish well as the guides for the tasting don't speak English, but we had a wonderful time and the wines are delicious. We toured two other bodegas, but I bought all of my wine to bring home with me from here and I've even found a local importer that imports their products so I can find them here in the USA.

Nice afternoon here, tried 3 wines for 15 pesos then bought a couple of bottles for the table. Nice outdoors seating, good atmosphere. Was a lovely day, good wine for those amazing Argentinian prices and a great introduction to our stay in Cafayate.
