Great and historical place in Caracas

main place of Chacao municipality. Nice obelisk and excellent to take a couple of pictures. There is the "Avila" behind it.

Walking through Plaza Altamira reconciled me with walking in Caracas, there was a nice gourmet fair with lots of alternative stands, the place was well illuminated as the night came down, and one could feel the spirit of the inmortal Caracas still there good job Alcaldia de Chacao !

I don't recommend walking around/sitting in this plaza as it's very busy and crime is at such a punishing level that you put yourself at risk of being mugged, kidnapped, or worse.

It's very beautiful and charming, you can get the real vibe of the city and its people but don't get too comfortable or relaxed as it's not the safest square there is.

This is a beautiful plaza with a beautiful view of the Avila mountains. Relaxing stroll and great places to eat around. Would be a great place to take your family or loved ones.

Plaza Altamira is located in one of the affluent parts of Caracas, however, like most of the country, it is run down and you won't feel safe at all in this place. Its a shame.

Again, drive by and maybe get off for a couple of minutes... There is no real parking even though the subway station is just there. I would suggest doing something different after driving by.. Enjoy
