One of the first things i have to say about this place is, bring your coats, the name it's not just for show, although we are undergoing climate complications right now, the cold environment is still there, as well as the possibility of catching the place in a snowing moment, great place for hiking too.

We went canyoning in Merida and it was so fun! Reallt enjoyable for outdoorsy people! The water is at 13 C and the sights are amazing! Not recommended for people who don't exercise or that suffer from hipothermy.

I've done a few day trips in the park, and I would love to go camping there too. If you're not used to the altitude, don't push yourself too much. I lived at sea level before coming here and the first hike was definitely challenging, even on relative flat territory. But the park is stunning! There are a couple of... More

This was one of the best sierra I went to in South America. The nature and peace is all over you. Try the Arepa Andinas delicious local pasties.

This National Park actually covers a huge portion of Merida and Barinas states. For this reason you will find all kinds of landscapes depending on the area where you enter the altitude that you manage to reach and your personal abilities. So the landscapes cover everything from flatlands, rain and cloud forests, moors, rocky mountain tops, waterfalls, lakes, as well... More

Beautiful 2day trip that rides up to the top of Pico Bolivar on mule, then return on foot. A great rustic way to spend time in the natural beauty of Merida.

we love it. It was very cold, take scarfs with you. And hats. And gloves. It was amazing. Go with your friends and have an amazing trip. Visit the laguna. Drink a hot chocolate. Take cameras. Stop at the pico àguila.

The whole park is breathtaking with majestic mountains, beautiful waterfalls and interesting plants. It's a great place to hike around or at least drive through. I wish I would have spent more than a day there. But warning if you plan on camping it can get very very cold at night.
