Must see, we tried to make it for the sunrise but it started to rain just before the sun came up. It was still fun though ; )

If you're on the island you obviously wont want to miss this. So peaceful, beautiful and mysterious. I rented a jeep which meant we could chill out and stay for a while. I must have taken 1000 photos!

Our tour guide took us twice to see the sunrise at Ahu Tongariki, first day it was raining and impossible to see anything, but the second day was great, sun thru the moais was sublime.

Ahu Tongariki is the largest standing Moai monument on Easter Island. It's a collection of FIFTEEN Moai statues, set up on a ceremonial platform. You can get there from two different directions - on the road from Anakena Beach or from the city, taking a...More

The view of this 15 moai was actually impressive. Although I wanted to stand next to the moai, it was prohibited to enter the zone within approx. 100 feet (30 meters) from the moai. Instead, we could take funny photos where I look one of...More

This is the largest of the platforms and very impressive. We tried to see sunrise coming up over the platform (which we hear is spectacular), but the sky did not cooperate that day.
