We had an amazing day with our tour guide Christina who was amazing and so knowledgable as she was able to answer in detail all the questions I had to ask . The tour was really varied and included a wonderful BBQ lunch in one...More

Ahu Tangariki with its 15 Moai of all sizes is quite an amazing site. Walk around the back side and see more carved heads as well in a small fenced off area. A number of extra Top-Knots are lined up nearby as archaeologists were unable...More

As with all of the moais on Easter Island, Tongariki is monumental and mysterious. This one is probably the most photographed and the one that appears most often in articles about Easter Island. Truly fantastic!

This is the most spectacular sight on the island. Seeing the 15 moais lined up before the bay is a moving experience. You need to go in the afternoon to get the sun on the front of the statues so your photos come out nice....More

My wife and I were fortunate to visit this site on a beautiful day. The morning sun hit the Moai just right and the area was not crowded, though I understand that it can be. Ahu Tongariki can be seen from Rano Raraku; while it...More

We were there last month (3/2015). They drive on the right side of the road. I saw a car rental place right in town but don't know what they cost. If I were you, I'd take a small group or private tour. The tour guides have... More
