The hike to Laguna de los tres with Fitz Roy in the foreground was our favourite of the three we did in the area (Loma del Pliegue Tumbado and Laguna Torre), although all are amazing. We did this hike at the start of September so the lake was frozen over, but lake Sucia had begun to thaw. Unfortunately also at... More

We were very, very lucky to have a clear, sunny day when we did this hike. The final 1km which is a 400 metre steep uphill over rocky terrain was pretty challenging but so worth it. We took a bus from El Chalten bus to El Pilar, walked to Poincenot, then up to the mirador and then followed the track... More

This is the signature walk in the area and is a must do, especially if you have good weather. The trail is well marked and is easy for the first 9k; the last 1k is steeply uphill but the path is well graded

Loved it. You never know for sure what weather will bring but you can typically expect substantial winds. We took a ride to the N end beginning of the trail and hiked all the way back down to the trailhead at El Chaltén.

Truly breathtaking... And not just the hike to get there :) You are looking at around 22kms round trip with the last km or two to be the steepest. Go earlier in the dat to avoid the crowds on the trail. You would rath be coming down against the crowds then joining their train up. Instead of hiiking in and... More

Traveling to Patagonia and not seeing on the the best mountain ranges, the Fitz Roy + Cerro Torres area, is a miss! Gear up in sturdy hiking boots, bring (or rent in town) poles, pack a lunch and a thick wind-breaker and take on the long trek to see these beauties up close! There is no fee to enter the... More

This place is amazing but you need to be in a good shape to do it! This trail spend almost a full walking day 10km walking from El Chalten (don't forget that you have to walk 10km more to came back :). Bring a good meal and some wind coat or fleece with with you. The last kilometer is the... More

It is really a magnificent mountain. A huge Torro towering the neighboring mountains. After three days in El Chalten we finally got a great view on the mountain our last day. If you are close it is a must.

The hike to Cerro Fitzroy was a hike of a lifetime. My wife and I are not big hikers but were told this was a hike we should not miss. Well they were right. The sights and views were amazing. The hike itself to lag. De los tres was to say the least challenging but well worth it. It is... More

Most of the route is not difficult. The last km is pretty challenging, but the view from the top is worth every second :)
