Wonderful mountain views

The group I travelled with was really really lucky with the weather and we had perfect views of the mountain several times, but especially from Lago de los Tres. Amazing place.

It is true that the weather gods need to be on your side but if they are then Wow! The hike itself is not that arduous until the last km and winds through beautiful beech forest with constant tantalising views of the ultimate destination. Once there and the weather is with you then this has to be one of the... More

Definitely go if a hiker! But, pray for good weather. Book at least 5 days so you get a clear day with minimal wind and rain. I was lucky to see Fitz Roy from my great, small hotel Infinito Sur. Restaurants serve delicious food. Dogs are friendly and calm. People welcoming. Loved it as a solo traveler. eec

for all trekking, mountain and nature lovers this is the place to visit, this path, has many levels but to see some great views you will require a minimum of 3 hours for a short trip (both ways) and need to be in a quite a fit condition.

Always on the mountains the great views are presents; the day we hiked to the base of the glacier Cerro Fitz Roy was partly covered by the clouds, nevertheless the panorama to Laguna Capri gave the sense of the heights. Very satisfactory hike, even though busy. Take with you warm clothes and dress like an onion.

This is not an easy trek but absolutely worth to go. We took a shuttle bus from El Chalten town to the country park and started the trek from there. The views in the country park is so amazing and end up we spent quite some time to take photos at the beginning. The path up to Cerro Fitz Roy... More

One of the must-do hikes in El Chalten. Approximately 22 km in total. Easy/moderate difficulty with largely flat terrain for most of the way. Last kilometer up to the glacial lake at the base of the mountain is a steep, rocky climb. Well worth it. Stunning.

I would imagine this is the main reason why people fly from all over to Chalten and it's totally worth it. We were blessed with clear skies and comfortable weather, making for an easy hike with a spectacular end point. Without a doubt, the nicest view I've had to enjoy a sandwich in a long time.

Very good trek, not that hard although the last part (1 hour or so) is really steep. It is worth it: the Fitz Roy is stunning.

One of the best places i stayed in Patagonia. Amazing view on Fitz Roy and the whole chain. I felt like i can climb as well the "line across the sky" :-) Use the hike starting from Hosteria El Pilar to get their, so you will have a great view on Glacier Piedras Blancas as well and can enjoy multiple...
