The Ranger I met when I first entered Glacier National Park could not have been more helpful. He told me what the weather was predicted to be for a couple of days and said that to take advantage of this, I should walk on the...More

Although we didn't climb Mount Fitz Roy, few people do, we had our best day in Argentina going to see this fantastic mountain. We walked to it from El Chalten, having followed the Rio Blanco from El Pinar Hostel to Poincenot Camp. The Walk from...More

We lucked out with our visit in early Nov when Fitz Roy opened up for us. Knowing there could be a chance of lack of visibility, we camped out in Poncenot for 2 nights. After one windy night and another rainy day, the weather was...More

If you have the energy for the 10km hike you should definitely do it. You will be treated with an awesome view and fresh glacier water to drink!

The trail is well marked from town, and very easy until the climb starts. I've met people on the lower trail turning back as they misjudged their time. So, yes, allow plenty of it as you'll be taking breaks toward the end very frequently. Definitely...More

When we arrived, we though we'd need to do this hike as an in and out, as our map only showed that route. But by taking an inexpensive shuttle to the Hotel Pilar, we turned it into a vastly preferable loop, which includes views of...More

We went on this trail because it was considered to be the best but also super difficult and very long. The last one km is a very steep climb - 400 meters with just rocks but if one can do it, it is worth every...More

Yes! It's roughly in the middle of el pilar and el Chalten town. However, I very strongly recommend doing the climb up to fitz Roy! It's absolutely stunning.

Hello. I would advise checking with your accommodation place as we walked the area from El Chalten. Otherwise I would go with the Andesmar group of companies, which run on time and do not leave people behind at the drop off... More

El Chalten is very small. You don't need public transportation to anywhere in El Chalten. You can walk to trails, restaraunts , bus station etc
