Our cruise ship docked in Skagway and we rented a car to drive to Canada, this was a fun little place we stopped at along the way. We knew nothing of this "desert" but thought it was interesting, although it's small, it was easy access...More

You absolutely have to stop there but make sure that you exit your vehicle and walk, walk, walk... barefoot. If your are lucky enough to visit on a sunny day, stop there in the evening when the sun is setting; you will not regret this...More

There is a small patch of sand dunes which is actually a glacier lake created by the end of the ice age. When it evaporated the bottom was like a sand dune. Really interesting. Of course I had to walk 30 feet out to see...More

Carcross desert sits on tge outside of Carcross. It is small by comparison but has plenty of interesting floral and fauna. I wish it were more protected as the environment is fragile. Non the less if your passing through stop for a look. Very interesting...More

Strange piece of desert in the middle of mountains, lakes and meadows. Sign explains why the desert is where it is.

It's a real desert, with real sand, smack right in the middle of a rain forest. Most amazing thing you'll ever see!

This is a cute little stopping point for a photo opportunity. It's free, so who can complain! Basically cute little sand dunes with good views. Worth a stop but not a trip especially!

Stopped here as part of a self guided jeep tour - it's a fun place too! A massive patch of sand in the rough and beautiful scenery of the Yukon! Parking next to it so easy to get too! Can get busy due to tour...More
