About
For that vintage seaside atmosphere of candy floss and donkey rides, set up your deckchair in the section closest to the town. The Blue Flag beach is never overcrowded and also has trampolines, bouncy castle and pirate ship during the Summer. If you want a quieter space for your picnic and to be closer to the sea, then venture further along the one-mile long promenade perhaps using the land train which runs the length of the promenade.

We visited Barmouth Beach for the first time and we were pleasantly surprised to find a clean, sandy beach that stretched over a great distance.

From the beach visitors can enjoy magnificent views over the surrounding countryside and the town centre is only a short walk away.

We will most certainly come here again in the future, either to have a lovely day out or to spend a short holiday in one of the Hotels or B&B's.

Used to bring the children to barmouth's long golden beach in the 80s and 90s. We visited this week and its unrecognisable. You step off the prom into a sea of grass. No sign of the golden sands. I understand this is now a natural defense against the sea but it's no longer a pleasant beach to visit especially given the number of dogs now running free as well. We wont be visiting again.

Lovely family day out, large car park opposite the beach. Area catered for grandparents, parents and children. Dog friendly on one section of the beach. Trampolines available, fun fair across the road, little shops selling drinks, doughnuts and ice cream. What is there not to love

Spent a pleasant sunny afternoon in this picturesque corner of mid Wales, which has one of the biggest and best beaches for miles around. The town doesn't have a lot to offer, but has one of the cleanest, family friendly and accessible beaches that you could wish for in an English seaside town. Was quite busy on the sunny Saturday we were there, but the Beach is so big it can easily hold hundreds of people with plenty of room to spare. It stretches quite a long way from the Harbour end,and has a convenient walkway to help reach a good series of rock pools and shallow bathing areas. My wife & myself are well into our 70s, but would have relished a place like this when we were younger to bring our children for a day out. The views from the Beach across the estuary to the hills & mountains beyond are second to none and the place has much to offer for young & old alike

Beautiful beach with long stretches of sand to provide a lot of space. During holidays it can get very busy but that is expected. The water is clean and there isnt too much seaweed. Further down the beach away from the arcade it is more quiet, or you can walk along towards the harbour for some nice restaurants and crab fishing.

The sand was soft and vast. Plenty of space for children to play and enjoy the beach. The water was clean and on one of the hottest days of the year, was great to swim in! The concrete sea defence provided a good seat and lovely views of the surrounding area. There was several jelly fish on the beach so we opted to wear beach shoes. Car parking was nicely available just opposite the beach.

Just returned from this little gem of a place in West Wales, what has gone wrong. I have been going here man and boy for over 40 years, since covid this little town has closed down as regards to eating out. Lots of the shops are shut down or closed, the ones that are open are all shut for 7pm. We must remember this a holiday resort so let's make hay while the sun shines, some of the restaurants are over priced for the family man with kids and your left with fish and chips. The residents need to get together and put some kind of infrastructure back. After 7 pm it's like a ghost town even on a summers eve please bring it back to life.
