The day was sunny which made all the difference as the path is a little narrow at some points and may be slippy if wet. The walk is not very difficult and the views are quite spectacular, even for a local like me. We had plenty red deer for company and a couple of ravens keeping their eyes on us.... More

A walk up to the Bones Caves is well worth it! It offered enough 'excitement' for our teenage boys, who loved the dramatic scenery, the changing weather conditions at the drop of a hat (we seriously had everything apart from snow in that one walk), deer running up the side of the hill quite close to us, and then the... A good walk relatively easy up until the narrow rabbit type paths up to the bone caves which is fine if you are sure footed and take it easy. Well worth the walk and interesting caves. Scenery is the highlight and the pure clear quiet surroundings.

This is a lovely walk- especially on a sunny day. It feels like walking through a scene from a Tolkien story. We saw 16 deer on the hill opposite when we were in the cave- just wonderful! Also- we walked on a warm sunny day in sturdy walking shoes (not heavy boots). The shade was colder, and parts of the... More

Amazing walk to the caves. If you're brave enough to walk up to the caves the rewards are stunning views across the Inchnadamph estate. Good path but take care.

We missed the entrance to the walk at first because there is no indication from the main road other than a parking sign. There is an information board in the car park which explains what was found in the bone caves and whets your appetite for the walk. The signpost says it's 4km to the caves, the board says 2km... A lovely, not too strenuous walk with an awesome view at the end. More paths have been constructed in recent years so it is now easier to ascend to the caves. The view from the top if fantastic. Can be windy so bring a few layers just in case. Some great spots further on for a picnic. I only gave... More

The route is easy and makes for a great family walk. The track meanders up the valley, following the river. The caves are located in the obvious rocky outcrop on the right hand side as you move up the valley. Keep on the track that follows the left bank of the river as you ascend. Although a little deceptive, it... More

This is a great place to visit, the walk itself from the car park to the caves is really nice. The caves are really interesting and although I dint go in myself my two boys did. It was such an adventure for them and we've been back a couple of times since. Take a camera as you can get some... More

Took a trip to the bone caves as I have heard so much about them. Weather was dry with a little wind. Sensible foot wear is advisable as paths are very rocky & wet in places. The climb up to the caves is quite steep, the higher we got the stronger the wind became. Got quite hairy in places as... More
