The boat trip was very enjoyable, despite a shortage of wildlife. Dolphins were distant and the seal was asleep in the water. But it was a lovely afternoon and I got to see, from the boat, the mountain I climbed the day before. The skipper really knows hi stuff and, whilst mammals were scarce, I did see a couple of... We were very happy with the clean, well-equipped boat and the very experienced skipper on this cruise. There was seating for everyone. The history and geology of the area was as much. A topic for discussion as the local marine life, which was great for putting things in context. We learned of the changes happening in the area --certain sea-birds... More

Went out with my family and a full boat load on a glorious afternoon. As with the majority of people who sign up for the trip you are expectig to see some wildlife - notably Dolphins! But the trip itself is a pleasure in its self. Such incredible scenery and a wealth of information at hand. As it was we... More

A good trip out in a boat. Ian, our skipper, is very knowledgable about the area and the marine wild life. We saw porpoises from a distance, common seals and sea birds. No dolphins or whales seen today but still enjoyable trip. Sailings are weather dependant.

We spent a wonderful two hours on Starquest in rain and mist out on Gairloch today. We had booked as two couples and felt as though we had booked a private charter as there was no one else with us and therefore we had the full run of the boat (all sides) to ourselves! Skipper Ian kept us fully informed... More

We looked at various sea trips and this looked like the best value. It was originally meant to be 2 hours, but he asked us to get there early, so we could go out for longer, and were out almost 3 hours. The chap was really informative and interesting. Great trip

We had a lovely 2 and a half hour trip out on the boat. We saw lots of sea birds, seals and porpoises. Unfortunately we didn't see any whales or dolphins on this trip but would definitely go again!

No, we didn't manage to see eagles, divers, dolphins, or even the longed-for otter; but we saw some wonderful porpoises, seals, and seabirds; and everyone in our party agreed that this was one of the absolute highlights of our Gairloch stay this week. We basked in beautiful sunshine out in the bay, and all the while were enthralled by Ian's... More

Best decision of my holiday was going out with this tour. Firstly the funds go to the research done by the centre. secondly the boat is run on vegetable oil as it's better for the environment. Finally the route varies based on if something is spotted in the distance or has been showing in an area regularly, I went out... More
