These gardens are a delight and not to be missed if you are visiting Saffron Walden. They are more our less in the centre of town and very well tended for.

All time local favourite, make sure you check the hours when the maze is open or be disappointed. The lower gardens on two levels are also outstanding and my children never tire of the best hide and seek experiences to be had. If the weather...More

Beautiful gardens, including an excellent maze, formal layouts and fountains. It was a very hot day when I visited, so the shady spots and the peace and quiet were very welcome.

Been there several times since it was ‘rediscovered’. So peaceful, yet so close to Saffron Walden centre. Obviously it varies during year due to flowering times, but still a lovely place to visit.

This is a well-maintained garden or should I say gardens within a garden. There is a lovely rose garden, walled garden, dutch garden, summer house lawn, peaceful war memorial garden area. There is a tiny but well thought out visitor centre 'unmanned' but has informative...More

A brief visit. Pretty, tranquil and well maintained. A delight. Perfect for a romantic walk with someone special. Even in the drought it has lots of interest.

Lovely place. Very beautiful garden with a maize and a small fountain. There is a high viewpoint, where you can take stunning pictures. It’s a hidden gem. Must see attraction in Saffron Walden.

Calling it a hidden gem may be a bit of a cliché, but I really do think that’s the only accurate description of this place. Located just a short stroll from the High Street and Market Place, the gardens are surprisingly big and an oasis...More

A beautiful and peaceful place to spend an hour - even if you don't want to tackle the maze. There are formal and informal areas with plenty of space for a picnic

Yes, a lot of people walk their dogs in the gardens and in the park next door. ISTR there are some taps for watering the gardens from which you could get water for dogs too.
