    Lovely place
Car parks get very busy but worth it once parked. Very picturesque with lots of little shops around. You can also catch the ferry to Rock, as an option to the boat trips. Some very nice places to eat, at surprisingly reasonable prices. There seems to be lots of hair braiding stands for some reason which rather dominate the harbour side. Plenty of crabs to be caught by the look of the buckets. A really nice place to visit.

Friendly, lots of shops, pubs, restaurants
Lovely place for the day, great for crabbing with the kids. Plenty of places to eat and the people. We're very friendly. High and low tide times available on shop fronts so you know when to go crabbing at the right time of day.

Fabulous Padstow, but tourist information centre a big disappointment
We’ve now visited beautiful Padstow and have enjoyed each visit. The foot ferry to Rock was especially enjoyable and what a great service it is too! However having been into the local tourist information centre twice now I was not impressed at all and make the following comments: I was met by a mature lady who clearly doesn’t want to be there; no warm greeting or a smile, and rather than sit at the main front desk she continued to sit at the back office near the door with her hand on her chin! I’ve been in a number of tourist information centres up and down the country, but this has been the worst experience on both occasions. She has no customer service skills whatsoever, please local council sort this out, beautiful Padstow deserves so much better and so do the tourists!

Very busy and at times like the bull run in Spain.
Amazing little town as you walk down the hill, don't try to park anywhere near the car parks in Padstow as they must fill up at dawn! As soon as you hit the main shopping area the crowds hit you, it is very busy and the streets are small and tight, got hit by a car being driven by a lunatic, glancing yes but if I had been elderly god only knows. There are high end shops and independents alongside an excellent Boots which was packed out. The harbour front was the busiest, only a few seats to sit on but people were seated on the harbour walls and anything that was static really. A small lane takes you from the harbour up into the hills and over to a wonderful beach area. The harbour, the streets were clean and the local people were very friendly (mostly) and the shop staff were all friendly and helpful with no exceptions. Despite everything, we enjoyed our time in Padstow but be prepared for a lot of people.

    Great for crabbing.
Very busy place. Great for crabbing our crab trap was only in the water for a few minutes and loads of crabs were in the net. Highly recommend if you want a crabbing experience. Car pack is decent priced and it's practically on the harbour.

    Rick Stein
Visited as part of a bike hire trip. Lovely place. As picturesque as Rick Stein's Saturday Kitchen segments. I'd have liked to have spent a bit longer here but everything seemed to shut up shop before 5pm. Lovely array of shops, gifts, food and locally made celebrity fish chef alcohol . Rick Stein shop with nautical but nice Kitchen and homewear. Extortionate prices, but one would expect that in such a place. There was a handy Spar shop with nice staff. One thing I noticed - a lot of dog fouling, people hadn't picked up afterwards. I wouldn't have minded, had it been Chalkie. I wouldn't have minded catching crabs here. I'd have like Rick Stein to have cooked them but he charges an awful lot for cod and chips!

    Great afternoon
My husband and I visited Padstow to go to a shoe shop there that has great boots. After a little shopping enjoyed a walk around the harbour before heading to the pub for a pint of Mena Doo on draft. Sat enjoying our drinks on the comfy sofas next to the log burner. Menu looked good but as we had a late breakfast wouldn’t have managed a meal but will be try when next in the area

I love Padstow. We visit every time we’re in Cornwall. However, it seems to be turning into a Rick Stein themed fishing village. Everywhere you turn he’s trying to squeeze another pound out of the tourists. With little regard for “local” businesses.

    Great harbour
School's were on holiday, so it was so busy. Lovely place to spend the afternoon if you can get parked! Went for a pasty forlunch then headed to the harbour area for an ice cream, and a seat. Lovely old place, great for wandering around.

It’s a rather small, quaint harbour. It was cool and breezy despite it being mid June.

There’s not much to see or much more to say: it’s similar to many pretty harbours around the UK and Ireland. RNLI volunteers were practicing and as it was only about 11am a chap was setting up his restaurant for trade. I noted he priced a crab sandwich at £17. There is no chance that I would pay this sum for a crab sandwich.

I wondered if this was the Rick Stein effect.
What I mean is that people price things more greedily as there’s a place nearby that draws a crowd and lives on its reputation (what I saw of Stein’s empire didn’t much impress me but as he’s made his money he doesn’t have to bother). I got a much better fish & chips in Harry Ramsden’s Manchester for less than half Rick’s price.

I knew a business owner who had his own coffee cafe. He kept complaining that Starbucks hadn’t come to his town and when they did he raised his prices. He was delighted.

There is a public toilet not far from the harbour. It was set up to charge users but not now.

Beautiful place to visit but far from disabled friendly. We went as we heard it was lovely and a nice place. While what we heard was correct it was far from disabled friendly. To start there is about 8 disabled bays while there are hundreds of regular bays near the harbour. The second parking area closest to it with disabled bays is half way up a steep hill. There were numerous disabled bays there and even toilets. Sadly the disabled toilets were in horrible condition and not even usable. There was one disabled toilet at the harbour which was clean and in good shape. There are drop curbs on most of the pavements but many of the pavements are not wide enough for wheelchairs. We made the most of the situation but were sadly disappointed and would not recommend anyone that is disabled visit unless you have a heavy duty electric wheelchair or someone that can push you up the hill.

This is the most dissapointing place I have ever been. For years Padstow was the main reason we wanted to travel from Ireland and visit Cornwall. The place offers nothing except dogs, dogs ,more smelly dogs and rip off fish and chips. It is more akin to a dog show then a Padstow. Give it a miss. Falmouth is far more beautiful and has loads to offer.
For sure a lot more beautiful places to visit. Also parking is an absolute nightmare. And again a rip off

Do not park in the harbour car park. We genuinely parked up and paid for 4 hrs in coins and returned and exited within 4 hrs (after a beautiful day in gorgeous padstow) however few weeks after rec’d a fine from the private car park (the main one in padstow near the little cottages) saying we did not pay enough. Luckily I kept all the tickets from many of our car park stays in Cornwall that weekend. On checking this one (which on the day we just took from the machine and placed in the windscreen) the ticket wasn’t ours as has a diff reg on it and was for 2hrs. Clearly the machine is at fault and somehow ‘behind’ in issuing tickets (presumably we had the ticket of the person who paid before us or it duplicated their ticket) they will not accept the appeal. Feel absolutely cheated as we most definitely paid the correct amount. All our other tickets were paid online so strong suggestion u pay online. Even if we had checked what the machine gave us at that time you cannot speak with anyone no one is there. An absolute disgrace to padstow and left a very very bitter taste in our mouths. Shame on the company

can appreciate the beauty when day trippers leave. But so many dogs - we have renamed it p***stein. It reeks of urine. Great choice of pubs if you can tolerate the dogs

We had s much better visit 2nd time around. Nice and quiet although they were getting ready for the May Day celebrations (we didn't attend) would suggest Prawn on the Lawn for lunch - booking ahead advised.

Cramped little harbour with very few boats, cramped little shops, very expensive parking. Expensive, cramped cafes. I suppose there is a small amount of quaintness in the place but it looked quite run down to me.
Last time I think.

A beautiful place. I had not been for about 4 years wont go again. In that time its become a doggie haven, dont worry about the tourists and dog wee and s..t all over the place, was a warm day and the air smelt of urine. Lots of people with more than one dog, many misbehaved as some of theri owners, sorry a beautiful part of Cornwall thrown to the wolves for the extra tourist pound
