With a volume of more than 100,000 m3 and a surface covering 9,371 m2, the Tourist galleries represent approximately one-third of the cave. The cave has been used as a habitat, a burial site and for cultural expression. There are remnants testifying to the passage of hunters, gatherers and fishermen from more than 30,000 years ago. The General Visit starts with the screening of a audiovisual presentation in which you will be able to see spectacular details of the cave (10 minutes). Then an audio-guided visit through the different chambers of the Cave, in a pleasant walk of about 45 minutes where you will discover the many secrets the grotto keeps (audio-guided in Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Russian). When the cave closes its doors, a small group of privileged people can enter the mystery of the underworld to enjoy the magnificence and beauty of the cave, and discover its secrets. You can choose between three modalities of Exclusive Tours

Went to the caves from malaga taking a long bus ride and arrived at the start of noon. As soon as we entered the line to buy tickets we noticed many people were having a discussion with the cashier and were disgruntled.. finally when it was our turn we noticed the sign that the tickets are sold out.. we asked... The staff left something to be desired. Not very friendly. Shoved round like cattle inside to make the group stick together. Lots of steps which may be hard for older or less agile people - should be made more clear.

We went here on many occasions during our stay in nerja. The views are great with plenty of cafes and bars nearby. A word of warning , we were approached by women trying to give us bunches of herbs and then wanting money. You have to be firm and say NO. Apart from that it's worth a visit .

I strongly recommend this place if you are visiting Nerja. It is such an impressive cave that everyone should experience the atmosphere of this place. The quided tour is really nice so you can easily follow the tour and learn more about the history and the importance of it. It was definetely worth to visit.

Veterans of cave might be right when they say that these are only average but as someone who has never visited caves I must say I was astonished by the scale of the extraordinary formations, created over millennia. Photographs simply do not do justice to the vast columns of stalagmites and stalactites and stalagmites, which look like computer generated fantasises.... More

Exciting trip on the Cuevatrain from Nerja. Most but not all steps illuminated including the one tripped over. Cave average compared to others in Europe.

Well worth a visit. Caves themselves are a sight to behold. The audio guide provided was interesting and clear. The area around the enterance has a nice playground for kids and a restaurant that was welcoming.

These caves really are beautiful and well worth a visit. Beautiful formations and access was no problem with my 5 year old. We were there at Easter weekend so it was very busy, parking is tight so if you can get the "train" up from Nerja do. You can book online or buy a ticket on the day, if going... More

Walked from Nerja to the caves lovely walk in the sunshine along the n340 (signposted). Caves worth a visit, 10 euros to get in, gets busy so would suggest either pre-booking your ticket to get a time you'd prefer or arriving early (open 10-4 in April). You can get tickets and the Cueva train from Nerja museum 12 euros. Would... More

As an X-Caver I have always avoided show-caves, but this almost breaks the mold, the formations are remarkably well preserved. The tour includes the latest wifi multi language translator, you're own babel fish, and it's cool, insofar that you are out of the sun for an hour. Worth the entrance fee.
