Bought 4 returning tickets for Barcelona - Madrid. 11 days before the trip I realised that i bought tickets in wrong direction. I sent email to customer service, but they did not respond with a single letter. Never again

I took the Renfe hi speed train from Barcelona to Madrid in a first class car. Ticket cost me 150 euro. The seat was comfortable and the car was pretty quiet and conducive to getting some work done (without wifi). Food they served was not good, but there was a food car if you wanted to buy something else. Train... More

Nice clean station in the middle of nowhere... Was surprised to have purchased Eurail tickets only to stop here and get on a bus 1.1/4 to Granada... And the same thing returning to go to Malaga

I took this from Madrid to Valencia, then Valencia to Barcelona. The food was great when I paid for a higher class (I'd gotten a deal online.) No wifi is no helpful. And I was early arriving so I asked if I could switch trains (it was quiet) and they were not having it. Seemed odd to be so inflexible.

Renfe is a good train service, although my tickets were purchased through Iberia, meaning that I had 3 hours to get from the airport to station which is NOT enough time. Missed the train and got a fine.

It was a very long way without any accommodation or else in the train. The crew was wierd and very disappointing. We'll never take this train again

We took the train from Madrid to Malaga. Both stations were very busy. The train itself although we thought we had first class tickets there was no service and we had to go to the buffet to but drinks and the queue there was very long. There is no wifi on the trains and it was quite a long trip... More

Superb! Upgraded to first class for approx 10 Euro each when booking online. You get very comfortable reclining seats with oceans of space and good quality food included served on trays like on airliners. Drinks come with the food and further drinks are offered later, also included in the price. The train is modern and fast 300kmh at times so... More

We travelled between Madrid and Barcelona on an evening AVE high-speed service. The train was clean and seating was of course pre-allocated, so it was easy to settle-in. The journey was punctual and non-stop. The train was indeed high speed, seeming to reach a peak of about 302 Km/ H (187 MPH), with it rarely dropping below 290 Km/ H.... More

Before we purchased our tickets for AVE train from Madrid to Barcelona, I think I read pretty much all there was to read about how and when to do it, so I was prepared. There were numerous recommendations instructing people to buy 60 or 62 days prior to travel to get the best prices. I spent about 2 months watching... More
