A great experience

The bad thing is that you have to wait a very long time till you visit. The view is great from the stairs. A very relaxing atmosphere in the cave.

The place is unique in the hole world, but to visit it, is a little unconfortable. The waiting time is about 1 hour. To reach the ice cave you have to walk on iron stairs about 50 meters down. It is a little unconfortable for young children. To reach the top, you have to walk on the same stairs again... More

The most beautiful part of this cave are the stairs to it. The cave got smaller in time due to the growth of the ice so now it only has one room. You ger in with a group of maximum 100 people. There is only one way up/ down so you have to wait for everybody to get up the... More

Very nice experience! Very interesting place in the midlle of forest/mountain. Good route until there, and spectacular monument of nature. The ice from the cave is very interesting. Unfortunely, is not possible to visit more from the Ice Cave. recomended!

Even if this cave is not so spectacular because there are no stalagmites and stalactites, it hosts the largest underground ice glacier in Europe. You may see a wonderful "shrine" made of ice. The cave entrance is also very interesting.

It is a nice place to visit if you are in the area. A nice short walk to get there and lots of stairs to get inside the cave :)

i have visited this place several times during my life. What is scary that it become very commercial. Which has its good and its bad sides. Good: the road has been paved up to the entrance. There is a ticketing system in place. There are many possibilities for camping or renting rooms. Bad: the parking sites are not for free.... More

Scarisoara houses the largest underground glacier in Romania and probably in Europe. Scarisoara is located at an altitude of 1165 meters and contains 80,000 cubic meters of ice. The oldest ice block is based on the venerable age of 4,000 years . You have to go down and climb up some 150 stairs, but the view is realy amazing. The... More

One of the oldest ice caves existing, The access needs some physical fitness and you should not expect the perfect stairs to climb down. Only a small part can be visited without special gear. Nevertheless worth to see it.
