If you are in Halden area this is a "must visit". A nice, large place to walk about and a cafe/restaurant to visit (indoor/outdoor). Panoramic view of Halden. Walk up from town or drive almost all the way up and park the car. Visit recommended,- specially summertime.

Its quite a hike up, but the view is worth it. The day we went there was an improvised performance by a group of performers. We had a blast

It is a great place to visit, full of history and you have access almost everywhere. Information board are all over the place both in English and Norse. Amazing views from the top. Great photo opportunities from top of the hill or from the bottom.

There is a nice parking area below the fortress and beautiful park around. The fortress is well mapped and marked. Some areas include steep steps climbing, but is definitely worth the... More

Very interesting to walk around in Fredristen Festing and look at the old buildings which are rich in history. One will also experience a magnificent view overlooking the Halden.
