The Swords Round Tower has stood since the 6th century and it looks very old. We were disappointed that we couldn't climb the Round Tower, but that is not possible. The view of the town must be amazing. It's still worth the walk to see.

If you are staying in Swords and have some time it is worth taking a little time to go look at these ancient structures at the church. It will not take very long but interesting to tak a closer look.

We visited Swords Round Tower and St. Columba Church, they are on the same grounds, along with a clock tower. Nice spot to visit if you are staying in Swords. We stayed here our last night, to be close to the airport, for the morning.

A must when you visit Swords A piece of history restored to catch the imagination of the adventurous traveller. A story behind the towers. Find out for yourselves. A must see.

The tower is in need to restoration. However it’s testament to the workmanship that went into building the tower that it is still standing. It is in the ground of St Columbas Church.

This was pleasant find on our drive. We couldn't see any place to park, so we did a bit of a walk to get to this site from the main part of town. I'd say it's maybe a 5 minute walk from Swords Castle. It...More

No I'm afraid not. It's been closed for over 20 years. The Viking tower adjacent is closed also. Both are in need of repair
