I went on the 3-day trip in august 2017 and it was a great experience. Excellent horses and a very well planned trip by Elwira&Svenni who were great hosts and also great cooks! I would recommend this trip to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience.

We really enjoyed our 2 hour ride. We were given really good horses for a beginner and a more experienced rider. At the end of the ride we were given amazing homemade Hjonabandssaela cake (traditional Icelandic recipe). I can highly recommend.

We had a beautiful day with 2 really good instructors and had a really nice trip in the nature with view to Hekla. We wa inspired to take a 3-4 day horseback trip next time we are in Iceland.

Yes, most of the stables in the South are closed, not sure about any with regular rides, everyday tours. We highly recommend Laxnes Horse Farm for a winter rides, they are closer to Reykjavik.
