We drive by the massive remain of the volcano and I could only imagine what the active eruption was like I'm sure it was terrifying. A good historical visit.

The power plant is just stunning. All the pipes an the steam seem from another world. Drive past the plant for some great views and hikes.

It's amazing to see the lava formations! It becomes this in-hospitable landscape. Great photo op. There's an eerie beauty to lava. Don't miss the crater Viti--pale blue water inside. If you have time, walk around.

Some farmers are taking advantage of the lava rocks to build fences for the animals. It's really amazing to see how much lava there is and it makes you more aware of the damage a volcano can do.
