"With over 100 exotic cats and other wildlife on display, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is one of the largest big cat sanctuaries in the United States. The non-profit USDA licensed refuge, founded in 1992, has grown to become one of the Top 10 attractions in Arkansas and the most popular in Eureka Springs. Lions, cougars, leopards, tigers, and bears are displayed in large natural habitats surrounding the main enclosures and gift shop. Each animal has its own story/history plaque for self-guided tours and over night accommodations are available via the Safari Lodge, RV park, and camping facilities. Guided tours are available from 10am until 4pm (Summer) or 3pm (Winter). The refuge is open year round (except Christmas Day) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.."

Great feel good place to visit if you love animals. Hearing the stories behind the animals makes me proud to have been a part of it even for 1 day. I have a lot more respect for this animal safe haven than ever before.

This place is unbelievable! The animals are so well cared for and the employees seem to honestly care about the welfare of them. To hear the stories about the rescues and how the animals are now being taken care of is awe inspiring!

We went on the habitat guided tour on the 1/2 mile walking trail. It was really great to see such a wonderful sanctuary for these animals to have a peaceful life. I hope it continues to thrive for long time as long it's needed.

The tour guides are very knowledgeable about each animal and its history. It is a short drive from Eureka Springs however it feels like you are in a different world in this wildlife refuge. I would recommend for all ages.

At our refuge, our safety fence is about 5 feet away from our habitat fencing. Depending on where in the habitat the animal is you could be as close as 5 feet away.
