"With over 130+ exotic cats and other wildlife on display, Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge is one of the largest big cat sanctuaries in the United States. The non-profit USDA licensed refuge, founded in 1992, has grown to become one of the Top 10 attractions in Arkansas and the most popular in Eureka Springs. Lions, cougars, leopards, tigers, and bears are displayed in large natural habitats surrounding the main compound enclosures and gift shop. Each animal has its own story/history plaque for self-guided tours and over night accommodations are available via the Safari Lodge, RV park, and camping facilities. Guided tours available and popular daily feeding times are 4 p.m. (winter) to 5 p.m. (summer). The refuge is open year round (except Christmas Day) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.."

We heard it was a great place to see big cats. It was hot and humid the day we visited, so the cats were hiding in the shade. We spent $20 per person to see empty cages and glimpses of tails. The grizzly bear was...More

Firstly, you are very aware from the guides that this is a refuge for once mistreated animals and it is not a zoo. The back story to some of the beautiful cats and bears is heart breaking but it is obvious that they are loved...More

About how close do you get to the animals. We have been to another facility near Branson and you get as close as 3 feet from their big cats.

At our refuge, our safety fence is about 5 feet away from our habitat fencing. Depending on where in the habitat the animal is you could be as close as 5 feet away.

I saw the Hotel Impossible show featuring your beautiful cabins, tents, and other lodging options... I am wondering the price range a family of four with two children, ages ten and eight, could expect to pay for a weekend stay with you in the spring or fall months probably. Thank you so much for all you do for the rescued animals!
