This location is home to a one-of-a-kind and stunning golden statue of Lord Buddha. The "Earth Touching Buddha" is claimed to be depicted by the golden statue that sits atop the central plinth. "Bhumisparsha Mudra" is the name of the Buddha's position displayed there. (His enlightenment is symbolized by the statue.)
On special occasions or in commemoration of loved ones, you can also plant a tree in the park's grounds.

I found a guide in Nagarkot named Govinda. He was born and raised in Nagarkot and knows the area better than anyone. I highly recommend him for and treks around the area. You can contact him +977 1 9762788888. I hiked with him 2 days in a row. Such a gift!

The first part of the walk will pass through traditional villages with terraced farming where you can see the countryside lifestyle. You can also see the kathmandu valley and shivapuri national park from this hiking trail. After walking for about 45 minutes passing through sunrise hotel, few Charming home stays where you can pose for a while for herbal tea and om shanti meditation center, you will see a very nice statue of Buddha in a nice garden posing Infront of green jungle. After spending few time admiring the beauty, you can return back to the town of Nagarkot from another side of village to make one complete loop. The second part of the trail passing back to town passes through two villages gauri gaun and bakri gaun and lots of farmlands. Depending the seasons of the year, you can see different crops and vegetables planted in the agriculture land. The last part of the trail is an uphill walk back to town. Its a very refreshing walk with nice Himalayan views as well. This hike can be done whole year around.

Nagarkot Buddha peace garden stand as the alternate view of The valley and its peripheral hills. Its one the way to Nagarkot. Once you stop and spend your 10-20 minutes of time which will certainly add value to your trip. Which will boost your energy to climb to Nagarkot Hill.

Plant a tree on a Buddha Peace Park on the memory of your loved one, on your anniversary, your birthday, your special day at (Rs. 350 for each one) including the transport if you are not available to plant the tree. Once planted, it will be the responsibility of the Peace Park management to water and nurture it. If you want to personally want to plant it, they can help you to arrange the logistics in terms of escorting you to the nursery farm to buy the trees and arrange the transport.

As we were making our way back from a day of sightseeing in Nagarkot, we stopped by the temple. The place was deserted and this allowed us to better enjoy it, listening to the birds, marveling at the butterflies as well as taking in the solemnity of the large statue.

Along the way one could see individual efforts being made recovering still from the 2015 earthquake. All reconstruction is done by hand. It will take these people some time to rebuild as they must work the land for a living. We saw a farmer work his oxen plowing his field. Although not all green as yet we saw the tiered terrain of the valley. The Buda at the end of the trail was majestic. A walk well worth it.

If you are staying in the area and want to stop, it's another Buddha but also includes the footprints of Buddha. I would not plan a trip here just for this!
